Directorate of Technical Education (Goa) will conduct Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) 2018 on May 8 and 9 in offline (Pen and paper based) mode. Apart from the exam dates, the exam conducting authority has also declared the schedule and marking scheme for the state level entrance test. According to DTE officials, GCET Physics and Chemistry Papers will be held from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm respectively on May 8, while the paper for Mathematics will be conducted from 10 am to 12 pm on May 9.
Each of the three papers of GCET 2018 would be conducted for 2 hours with each paper having 75 questions. Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer, however, for incorrect answers there would be no negative marking. This means that candidates would not loose any marks against the incorrect answers.
More details about the various events associated with the entrance exam will be announced in the due course. In 2017, Goa CET was conducted on May 9 and 10, while for the academic year 2018-19, the state entrance test will be held on May 8 and 9.
Approximately 20,000 candidates register for GCET every year. Out of the total registered candidates, last year around 14,798 had taken the test. There are 5 participating institutes in the state which offer admissions to qualifying candidates in B.E programmes.
Every year, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa conducts GCET for offering admission to qualifying candidates in undergraduate engineering programmes in participating universities, institutes and colleges across Goa.
DTE, Goa was established by the Government of Goa in 1986 with an objective of facilitating new technical education institutions and courses in the state. The purpose is also to prepare budget and distribute funds for technical education. DTE Goa’s responsibility also includes managing and controlling the technical education and institutes in the state through rules and regulations of the statutory bodies like MHRD, UGC, AICTE, PCI, COA, etc.

The application form of gcet will be available in official website.Candidates can submit the GCET applications by end of march. Exam will be conducted on 5th and 6th of may for undergraduate courses in different colleges. Use below link for more information
