GATE Result 2017 may be announced tomorrow - March 26
As has been the trend for the past few years, IIT Roorkee may announce the GATE Result 2017 tomorrow – March 26, a day earlier than the announced date which is March 27, 2017. IIT Roorkee had earlier released the Answer Keys a day earlier than the announced one. Candidates are advised to be ready to check their result as soon as it is announced. Candidates who qualify in the exam will be able to download the GATE Score Card 2017 immediately. To check the result of GATE, candidates will have to log in through GOAPS.

Why GATE Result 2017 will be announced tomorrow – March 26?
GATE 2017 Admit Card was to be available from January 5, 2017. However the admit card download facility was activated a day early enabling candidates to download their GATE 2017 admit card from January 4, 2017
GATE 2017 Answer Keys were to be announced on February 27 by IIT Roorkee. However they were released a day earlier and therefore they were available from March 26, 2017 after 2 pm when they were announced.

In keeping with the trends as mentioned above, it is expected that IIT Roorkee will announce the result of GATE 2017 on March 26.
How to check your GATE 2017 Result?
Log in through GOAPS by entering your Enrollment ID/Email Address. Then enter the password.
Access the given link for the result. The result will be displayed on the screen.
The details of the candidate, GATE registration number, GATE paper appeared for, Marks obtained in the GATE paper, qualifying marks and the rank of candidate if qualified.
Candidates may note that the result is not for printing. It also cannot be used as the official document while applying for PSU recruitment or M.Tech admissions.
The GATE score card will be available immediately after the result is announced.
It must be noted that the score card will be available to only those candidates who have scored above the qualifying marks specified by IIT Roorkee along with the result.
Candidates may note that the hard copy of the GATE score Card will not be issued. Candidates will have to download it.
The Score Card of GATE 2017 will be available for download till May 26, 2017 through GOAPS
Candidates may avail the GATE score Card from IIT Roorkee from May 27 to December 31, 2017 on payment of Rs 500 through GOAPS.

The application process for most IITs has already started. Candidates must apply to each individual IIT on the basis of their GATE scores and fulfilment of the specified eligibility criteria.

According to GATE 2022 eligibility criteria , if you are currently studying in 3rd year or higher or have already completed your graduation from any recognized University, then you are eligible to appear for GATE exam . This year GATE is conducted by IIT kharagpur. And after appearing , if you qualify GATE with the required cut off for individual PSUs, then you'll have good chances to get interview from that relevant PSU . You can also pursue higher studies like M.Tech in premium IITs through your GATE rank.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras is known both nationally and internationally for excellence in technical education, basic and applied research, innovation, entrepreneurship and industrial consultancy.
Generally your undergraduation CPI or percentage is only considered. Like for IIT Bombay, Madras, Roorkee, you need a minimum CPI of 6.0 or 60% in your Graduation to apply for their M. Tech courses.
Master's degree in Science or 4-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with biology or related subjects as one of the papers at the 10+2 level or later, along with a valid GATE score in related disciplines.
Candidates graduating/ graduated from IITs with B. Tech. Degree and having CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10) and above can apply without GATE Score.

Yes many students have completed their B.Tech and M.Tech from different branches.
Many students appear in the Gate exam in different branches.Someone gives the gate exam in CS branch whether he/she has completed B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical engineering.
So if you give gate exam in different branch then you can do M.Tech in that particular branch.
