Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) conducted COMEDK UGET 2017 on May 7 for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes across the participating institutes of the entrance test. According to COMEDK officials, the test conducted on Sunday was in online (Computer Based Test) mode. The entrance exam was conducted on All India basis. However, apart from the entrance exam date, the exam conducting authority did not release any other date related to other events of the examination. As per the official notification of COMEDK, the detailed exam schedule will be released soon.

In order to apply for COMEDK UGET 2017, aspiring candidates should have passed second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State/Central Government with 45% aggregate marks (general category) and 40% (SC, ST and OBC candidates). Also, the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject. The candidates are also required to have passed in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually.
Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or any other technical vocational courses as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.
Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.
Over 60,000 students apply for COMEDK UGET every year for admissions to over 20,000 undergraduate engineering seats available across the participating institutes of COMEDK UGET 2017. At present, as many as 181 engineering colleges are affiliated to COMEDK UGET.
