JEE Main Paper Analysis 2013 by Resonance

The pen and paper mode of JEE Main exam of the year was concluded on Sunday, April 7, 2013. The paper had three sections, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics which together constitute of 90 questions with a total score of 360 marks. Excerpts from the conversation:

Q: Please share a brief section wise analysis of the JEE Main 2013 exam.

A: Chemistry and Maths were quite easy. Physics was difficult as some questions required lengthy calculations. There were some questions which needed additional knowledge. Physics section was of moderate difficulty level. So the overall difficulty level can be termed as easy to moderate.


Q: What do your students have to say regarding the paper pattern of JEE Main 2013 exam?

A: The students who have reported to us so far have performed very well and they are confident of having a good score in the paper.


Q: What is the expected cut off marks for this year?

A: According to me it should be around 35% for General category.


Q: How should the online JEE Main 2013 applicants plan for their exam on the basis of the JEE Main 2013 offline exam?

A: You can expect to get similar type of questions in the online mode of exam as well. So practice hard and follow the pattern of the offline JEE Main exam. Don’t leave out any topic from the syllabus as there is possibility that you would get at least one question from each topic.


Q: What is your advice to the students who have taken today’s JEE Main 2013 exam?

A: Now they should start preparing for the JEE Advance 2013 exam. Don’t wait for the results. Be confident that you would be selected to take the next level of exam and even if you are not, this preparation would not go waste.
