About SRMJEEE 2020
SRM Institute of Science and Technology has announced that SRMJEEE 2020 now stands cancelled on account of the COVID-19 pandemic situation and the safety concerns of the students as well as their parents. The admissions will now be on the basis of the class 12/ Pre-University / equivalent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology. JEE Main or SAT qualified candidates are also eligible to fill the application for for the SRM B.Tech admissions. The SRMJEEE 2020 application form was available available till July 31 on the official website of the university - srmist.edu.in. Candidates could apply using their class 12 / Pre-University / equivalent marks to apply. Candidates awaiting their class 12 result can enter their marks once the board results are announced.

Last date to fill application form was July 31. SRMJEEE 2020 exam was scheduled to be held from July 30 to August 4 across 127 Indian cities and 5 overseas centres (Dubai, Doha, Muscat, Bahrain and Kuwait). The exam first scheduled from April 12 to 20 but had to be postponed on account of the lockdown enforced due to Coronavirus pandemic. SRMJEEE is conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology for admission to B.Tech programmes offered by the institute.
Changes were announced this year in the exam pattern of SRMJEEE 2020 with inclusion of English and aptitude as new section along with the prevailing Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology. Candidates seeking admission in SRM must check the complete eligibility criteria of SRMJEEE 2020 to apply for admission.There will not be any issue of the SRMJEEE 2020 admit card as the exam now stands cancelled. The authorities will use the scores of class 12/ PUC/ equivalent to prepare the merit list. JEE Main/ SAT qualified candidates can also apply for admissions. SRMJEEE 2020 counselling may be conducted online. However, the university is yyet to announce details of the admission process.

Candidates applying for the entrance exam have to fulfil the eligibility criteria of SRMJEEE 2020 to not let their application forms rejected. SRMJEEE 2020 eligibility criteria is basically a set of parameters defined by the exam conducting body which candidates have to adhere to be considered for admission. SRMJEEE eligibility criteria 2020 include parameters like age, qualifying exam, nationality etc.
To be considered eligible for SRMJEEE 2020, candidates can be Resident Indians, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and PIO or OCI card holders as issued by the GOI.
- Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam to be eligible for SRMJEEE 2020 with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE, Matriculation, or NIOS. However, candidates who are appearing in 10+2 in the academic year can also apply for SRMJEEE. It is to note that candidates who have completed both their 10 and 10+2 from NIOS will not be eligible for SRMJEEE.
- International Baccalaureate (IB) with Diploma, or an A-level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology / Botany & Zoology / Biotechnology as subjects from any international school will be eligible for admission through SRMJEEE.
Candidates eligible for SRMJEEE 2020 must be born between July 1, 1999 to July 1, 2004.
The institute offers direct admission and scholarships to first rankers of all Central and State boards in India, also to top 1000 rankers of IIT JEE, top rankers in each district of Tamil Nadu and exemplary sportsperson at National and International level.
The migrants from Kashmir will be eligible for relaxation in SRMJEEE eligibility for admission subject to minimum eligibility requirements as per UGC.

The application form was available in online mode. Offline application form was available till February 29 while last date for online applications was July 31. How to fill SRMJEEE application form 2020?
Candidates can follow the steps given below to fill the SRMJEEE 2020 application form:
Step 1: Registration – Candidates have to first register by providing the details required like name, email address, mobile number etc. Upon successful registration, they will get a mail on their registered email address. To activate the account, candidates have to validate the link sent to their mail.
Step 2: Filling the details – Candidates have to log in with their credentials and fill the application form of SRMJEEE 2020 with the details required. Along with the details, they will also be required to select minimum 3 exam centres according to their preference from the list available. Candidates also have to upload their photograph and signature in the specifications prescribed officially.
Step 3: Application Submission & Payment - After checking all the details filled and agreeing to the declaration, candidates have to submit their application form. It is important for candidates to know that for submission of application form too, they have both options – Online & Offline.
Candidates can either submit the form in online mode by paying the requisite application fee in online mode through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. OR
Candidates can choose to submit the form in offline mode by making the application fee payment through Demand Draft (DD).
For this, candidates have to fill the form in online mode, download it and send it to the authorities with DD drawn in favour of SRMIST, payable at Chennai. It is to note that this application form and DD have to reach the institute before the last date specified. SRMJEEE 2020 Preparation Tips

There will be no issue of any admit card on account of the cancellation of the SRMJEEE exam 2020.
The admit card or hall ticket of SRMJEEE 2020 will be downloaded by candidates online in the third week of July. SRMJEEE 2020 admit card will only be generated for those candidates who have successfully booked their slots. Candidates will have to download their SRMJEEE admit card 2020 by using their credentials and will be required to carry it to the exam hall along with two passport size recent colour photographs on the day of the exam.

Since SRMJEEE is cancelled, there will be no slot booking.
Candidates appearing in the exam will have to complete their slot booking of SRMJEEE 2020, otherwise, they will not be able to appear in the exam. Since it is an online exam, SRMJEEE 2020 slot booking becomes an important event; the institute will open the facility in online mode. SRMJEEE slot booking 2020 process will be real-time as well as on a first come first serve basis. To book slots, candidates will have to choose date and time for the exam as per their convenience. Candidates can enter up to three slots while booking their slot. It is important to know that without slot booking, the admit card will not be generated.

There will be no ranks or results announced for SRMJEEE. The university has announced the cancelleation of SRMJEEE 2020 exam on account of COVID-19.
The result of SRMJEEE will be announced by the institute in online mode. Candidates can check their ranks as obtained in the entrance exam from SRMJEEE 2020 result. The university does not declare marks secured by candidates in the entrance test. However, a merit list will be prepared based on the total marks of the candidates.

SRMJEEE 2020 Cutoff
The minimum ranks required for admission is the cutoff of SRMJEEE 2020. Candidates having ranks more than or equivalent to SRMJEEE 2020 cutoff will have more chances of admission in comparison to those who have lower ranks. SRMJEEE cutoff 2020 will be released category wise for all four campuses. The cutoff will contain opening and closing ranks for each programme offered. The authorities will consider various factors to determine the cutoff of SRMJEEE.
Factors involved in the making of SRMJEEE Cutoff
- Number of candidates appearing in the entrance exam
- Difficulty level of the exam
- Number of seats available in the institute
- Previous year’s cutoff trends
Mode of Counselling: Offline
The qualified candidates of the SRMJEE will be required to download their counselling call letter by logging in. They will have to fill their choice of colleges and courses according to their preference and report in person with the documents required in original and pay the fees on the dates specified by the institute.
SRM University will conduct SRMJEEE 2020 counselling in online mode for those candidates who will be called for On-campus counselling but could not appear for the same.
SRMJEEE Counselling Procedure 2020
The institute will conduct the counselling of SRMJEEE 2020 by using the following procedure:
Step 1: Registration and payment of tuition fees – Candidates will have to register, fill their choice of colleges and courses and pay the tuition fees of Rs 2,10,000 (inclusive of Rs 10,000 of registration fees and part of first-year tuition fees) through E-pay facility or through Demand Draft drawn in favour of “SRMIST” payable at Chennai.
Step 2: Reporting at the institute allotted – Following the fee payment, candidates will have to report to the institute on the date and time allotted as mentioned in the call letter. Candidates will be called for counselling according to their ranks in the merit list prepared by the institute. There will be different counselling schedule for different SRM campuses.
Step 3: Allotment of seats – Candidates who will be allotted seats on the basis of choice filling, merit and availability of seats will be given provisional allotment letter. After receiving the letter, candidates will have to pay the remaining tuition fees within the time period given, otherwise, their admission will be cancelled.

I have got 19 033 rank and getting Mechanical at Kattankulathur campus. Is there any chance of getting IT or if possible CS at the same campus?
The department change rules have been changed in 2015 and it has made the process a little easier. Earlier these were the rules:
- Person should score CGPA >8.5 at the end of first two semesters without any backlog or Disciplinary Committee action against him/her.
- Person should be in top 10% of her/his department.
- The strength of the department should not change by 10%.
A person can fill 10 choices for a department change.
So even if you score more than 8.5, but there are 4 more people (taking you’re in a department like Biotech or HSS where the number of people is less, say 40 in this case) who scored more than you then you won’t be able to change your department.
But this rule has been revised to remove the top 10% criteria. This has helped a lot of people. Following are the latest DepC statistics.
