SMIT 2023 Exam: Dates, Application Form, Eligibility, Admit Card, Syllabus, Pattern, Result, Cut Off

SMIT Online Test 2023 - Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology has released the SMIT 2023 application form. Interested candidates can access the SMIT application form  before April 12, 2023 at smu.edu.in. Candidates are advised to check the SMIT eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The application process of SMIT 2023 comprises registration, filling application form, uploading documents and payment of fee. The SMIT 2023 exam date has been announced. The SMIT 2023 exam will be conducted on April 14 to 20, 2023 in online mode.  Candidates who qualify in the JEE Main exam or MET exam, are exempted from SMIT online test, as they will be eligible for direct admission.

To be eligible for SMIT 2023 exam, applicants must have passed 10+2 with minimum 50% marks (45% in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates) with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, and any one of Chemistry/Computer Science/Informatics   Practices/Biotechnology/Biology. Applicants appearing for the qualifying examination will also be eligible to fill the SMIT application form 2023. 

After the conclusion of the exam, the exam authorities will release the SMIT result 2023 at the official website. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology will prepare separate merit lists for SMIT-qualified candidates and those seeking admission based on JEE or MET qualification. Applicants shortlisted in the merit list will be called for the counselling process later.

The eligibility criteria of SMIT comprises qualifying exam, qualifying marks and others. Eligibility criteria of SMIT B.Tech 2023

• Qualifying Exam: The candidate must have passed 10+2 with minimum 50% marks (45% in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates) with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, and any one of Chemistry/Computer Science/Informatics Practices/Biotechnology/Biology. Additionally, candidates appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible.

• Diploma holders may also apply provided they have scored minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates).

Candidates must keep in mind that merely meeting the above listed criteria is no guarantee of admission, as they also need to qualify in any of the following exams:

The authorities has released the application form of SMIT online test 2023 in online mode. The last date to fill SMIT application form 2023 is April 12, 2023. Candidates can fill SMIT application form 2023 either in online or offline mode only. 

When filling the application, the candidate must ensure that he/she uses only correct and verifiable information. Failure to do so will result in rejection of the application form. The process to fill SMIT B.Tech 2023 application form is explained below in simple terms for the benefit of the candidate.

How to fill Online application 

• Registration: The candidate has to first get registered by entering the required details like name, address, email id, contact number and course applied. Upon entering the registration details, OTP will be generated and sent to the registered email id and mobile number. The candidate needs to click on the confirmation link to complete the registration process. 

• Fill the form: The candidate has to next fill in all the relevant sections in the form, including the personal information, course applied for, academic, contact and communication details.

• Upload photograph and signature: The allowed file format is JPG, with a maximum size limit of 200 kb. The allowed dimension is 200*200 pixels.

• Payment of application fee: In the penultimate step, the candidate has to pay the prescribed application fee of Rs. 1000 using net banking, credit/ debit card.

• Submission of application form: Finally, submit the duly filled application form and take a printout.

How to fill offline application

• Download the application form from the institute website

• Fill in all relevant details

• Paste photograph in the assigned place

• Pay the application fee of Rs. 1000 through demand draft (DD), draw in favour of Sikkim Manipal University, and payable at Gangtok.

Application Fees

The exam authorities will release the exam pattern of SMIT 2023 along with the official notification. Applicants appearing for the exam must refer to the SMIT exam pattern for their preparations. The exam pattern of SMIT 2023 comprises medium of paper, exam duration, number of questions, marking scheme and others. Candidates can also refer to the syllabus of SMIT along with the exam pattern. The exam will be conducted for 90 minutes. There will be 60 questions, 15 each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. There will be no negative marking in SMIT online test 2023. SMIT Exam pattern 2023

The exam conducting authority will commence the SMIT slot booking a few days before the exam. Applicants appearing for the exam have to complete the slot booking of SMIT through their application number and password. Candidates have to provide exam date, slot, exam centre and others in the slot booking. After successful SMIT slot booking, applicants will be able to download their admit card. In case candidates fail to complete slot booking then they will be allotted slots randomly. Steps to complete the SMIT slot booking 2023 are given below.

How to complete SMIT online test 2023 slot booking?

• Visit the SMIT official website.

• Click on the direct link for SMIT candidate login.

• Enter the login credentials in the required fields. 

• Fill preferred exam date, slot, exam centre and other details in the required fields.

• Preview and submit all the details.

The authorities will declare the SMIT online test result once the exam is conducted. The result of SMIT online test 2023 will be declared in online mode. The SMIT online test 2023 result will include the score and rank obtained by candidates in the entrance exam. In case two or more candidates score the same marks, the tie will be decided based on PCM marks in 10+2; candidates with higher scores will be placed higher in the rank list.

SMIT online test 2023 – Rank List

The rank list would be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance exam. Exam authorities will use the rank list for short-listing candidates for counselling, which will be conducted offline. The address of the counselling venue will be mentioned alongside the rank list. 

Mode of Counselling: Offline

Admission authorities will publish a shortlist of candidates for SMIT online test 2023 counselling, which will commence in online mode. The counselling will be conducted in two rounds. Candidates will be called for counselling as per their merit rank, and seats will be allotted as per choices made and availability of seats at that instant. 

Document verification is an integral part of the SMIT online test 2023 counselling process. Candidates are required to bring originals of all relevant documents and four sets of self-attested photocopies.
