JNU CEE M.Tech Application Details

Online Mode

  • Candidates, who apply online, must enter all requisite details as asked and submit the form.

  • Candidates must upload photograph (width 150px and height 200px) and size less than 50 KB in .jpg format only. Signature size should be less than 20 KB (preferable width 60px and height 40px) in .jpg format.

  • Once the application is submitted, candidates can see a confirmation with a unique registration number. They must safe keep this number safe for future correspondence.

  • There is no need to send the application printout to the university.

Offline Mode:

  • Candidates can purchase a set of Application Form and Prospectus through post by sending crossed a bank draft drawn in favour of Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at New Delhi.

  • Candidates must send a self-addressed (unstamped) envelope of minimum size of 30 cms x 25 cms to the address mentioned below.

M.Tech (Computer Science and Technology):

Candidates must have passed a Master's degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Statistics or Operational Research or in any branch of Science or Bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering with at least 55% marks.


Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with at least 55% marks.


M.Tech. in Bio Technology

Candidates must have passed M.Sc in any one of the following:

  • Biotechnology

  • Life Sciences

  • Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry

  • Microbiology, Genetics

  • Biophysics

  • Microbial Genetics & Bioinformatics


Candidates must have passed B.E/B.Tech in any one of the following:

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Biochemical Engineering

  • Industrial Biotechnology

  • Leather Technology

  • Chemistry/Biotechnology

  • Biomedical Engineering

  • B. Pharma

  • Chemical Technology

Candidates must have passed their qualifying exam not earlier than the specified year.

JNU CEE M.Tech Counselling Details

Counselling of JNU CEE M.Tech is held for all candidates who have qualified in the JNU CEE M.Tech entrance exam. Candidates have to attend counselling in person with the specified documents in original for verification and confirm their admission.  JNU CEE M.Tech Counselling is conducted separately for M.Tech Computer Science and M.Tech Biotechnology candidates. The JNU CEE M.Tech Counselling Procedure is as follows:

  • Candidates who have qualified in JNU CEE M.Tech must register themselves at the University as specified on the scheduled date and time the details of which is conveyed by Jawaharalal Nehru University to the candidates.

  • They must register in person. They must submit their original documents for verification.

  • The original certificates are retained by the University for one semester.

  • After verification, candidates must pay admission fees as specified by the University.

JNU CEE M.Tech Counselling Procedure for M.Tech Biotechnology:

  • Candidates must exercise their options for joining the Universities (Anna University, CUSAT or Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology) as per their preference.

  • The form for option filling is sent to the selected candidates by JNU.

  • Candidates must send the DD as security deposit for admissions. This amount is refunded by the allotted university after first semester if a candidate avail admission, else it is forfeited.

  • Candidates who do not exercise their options for joining any of the participating universities are not considered for admission to those university/universities.

  • After allotment of seats, JNU sends intimation to the candidates about their allotment of the university and also to the concerned participating university to which the candidate has been selected.

  • The seat allotment is on the basis of the merit of the candidates and the options preferred by the candidates.

  • Complete JNU CEE M.Tech admission procedure and schedule of the allotted university as well as the amount of fee etc. to be deposited by the candidate are intimated by the University.
