Admission to 3-year engineering diploma courses offered by government and private polytechnics in the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be through JK Polytechnic Entrance Test 2019. The last date to submit the online application form was closed. The entrance exam, also known as JKPET, conducted by JKBOPEE on April 7. The mode of the exam was pen-and-paper based, while the syllabus will equivalent to class 10 level. Questions was asked from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and also English and will be objective type. The result of the exam will be published in local dailies as well as online, by or before April 28, and will include details like score and rank obtained in the exam. The merit list for counselling was prepared based on marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance exam. The counselling process is being conducted online from May 13, but if there are any vacant seats left, a manual (mop-up) round will also be held to fill up those seats. The application form of JK Polytechnic 2019 was released through online mode on January 4; applications submitted in offline mode won’t be accepted. The last date to submit completed applications is closed. Exam officials have released the admit card of JK Polytechnic 2019 in online mode on March 25. It will carry important exam-specific details like time and date of the exam, name and address of the exam centre, and also the roll number of the candidate. On exam day, all candidates need to bring the admit card with them and display it on demand to authorities; without the admit card, no candidate would be allowed to take the exam. The exam authorities has released the answer key of JK Polytechnic 2019 on April 7 that contain the official answers to the questions asked in the entrance exam. The result of JK Polytechnic 2019 was declared by authorities on May 2. It was published in the form of merit list. Using the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam, authorities published a merit list which will be used for short-listing candidates for counselling and seat allotment. In the unlikely event of the entrance exam not being conducted, the merit list was derived based on aggregate marks of class 10 (or qualifying exam). The branch and category-wise cutoff of JK Polytechnic 2019 would be determined for all the participating institutes of the exam. The cutoff generally indicates the last rank for which admission is offered to a particular branch and category of the specific institute. Mode of Counselling:
The counselling of JK Polytechnic 2019 is being conducted for eligible candidates in online mode from May 13. To participate in online counselling, short-listed candidates have to get registered and participate in choice filling process. There will be likely three online seat allotment rounds, which will be followed by a personal (mop-up) round to fill vacant seats. Candidates during counselling will be able to opt for up-gradation in subsequent rounds if they are not offered first-preferred seats.
