About JEECUP 2020

Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Exam (Polytechnic) 2020, also called JEECUP is an exam to admit students in Diploma courses of Engineering, Technology and Management. The Joint Entrance Examination Council (JEEC), Uttar Pradesh will conduct JEECUP 2020 on April 26 in offline mode. The application form of JEECUP 2020 will be released tentatively in the third week of December 2019. The application fee will be Rs. 300 (SC and ST candidates need to pay only Rs. 200). Question paper for the exam will be set in both English and Hindi languages and will include 100 objective type questions. Total duration of the pen-and-paper based exam will be 3 hours. The merit list for admission will be prepared based on marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance exam – no weightage will be given to marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

JEECUP 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of JEECUP 2020 comprise of the set of conditions that applicants need to meet if they are to be considered for admission. The eligibility criteria are prescribed by exam authorities and related to academic qualification, age limit, and minimum marks, as have been illustrated below.

Age limit: The applicant must be minimum 14 years of age as on July 1, 2020. There is no upper age limit though.

Joint Entrance Examination Council, UP will release the application form of JEECUP 2020 in online mode tentatively in the third week of December 2019. To ensure that the application filling process is smooth and error-free, the candidate should go through the directions carefully. Also, documents like mark-sheets of qualifying exam, scanned images of photograph and signature must be kept at hand. Check the step-wise application process explained in brief below. 

How to fill application form of JEECUP 2020

  • Registration – All candidates will be required to register on the application portal using details like name of the candidate and parents, Aadhaar number, date of birth, and valid email id and phone number. A password for the account that is created also has to be chosen.
  • Filling of application form – In the next step, the application has to be filled, which will have sections like – domicile, academic qualification, and category details. A convenient exam centre also has to be entered from the available options.
  • Uploading of scanned documents: After filling the relevant sections of the form, the candidate will next have to upload scanned images of photograph and signature as per the specification mentioned in the table below.

  • Payment of application fee: In the penultimate step, application fee has to be paid, either through online (net banking, credit or debit cards) or offline (e-challan). For making payments using offline, the candidate has to first generate the e-challan through the application portal and then make the payment at any branch of State Bank of India.

JEECUP 2020 Exam Pattern

The exam authorities will release the exam pattern of JEECUP 2020 so that applicants know what and how to prepare for the entrance exam. For example, the exam pattern carry insights into the mode of the exam, types of questions asked, marking scheme and medium of the exam. These insights will enable candidates to prepare more effectively which will in turn will increase their chances of success.

  • The exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper (offline) mode
  • The exam will have one paper that has to be completed in 3 hours.
  • The paper will have a total of 100 objective type questions 
  • For each question, four options will be given. Out of these options, only one will be the correct answer.
  • 4 marks will be awarded for correct answer, while 1 mark will be penalised for an incorrect attempt.
  • The paper will be set in English and Hindi languages

Candidates must note that adopting unfair means during the exam could lead to disqualification. Also, items like calculator or communication aides are not allowed inside the exam venue. 

The admit card of JEECUP 2020 will be released in online mode tentatively in the second week of April. The admit card will be issued for all candidates who successfully fill the application form and also meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. The admit card is an important document that is needed for sitting in the entrance exam. It carries details like the name, roll and application number of the candidate, date and time of the exam, as well as exam centre details. Before downloading the JEECUP 2020 admit card, the candidate needs to ensure that the information is legible and is similar to the one the candidate entered at the time of filling the application form. If there is any discrepancy, it should be brought to the notice of exam authorities immediately.

The official answer keys of JEECUP 2020 will be released by exam authorities. The answer key contains the correct answers to all the questions asked in the entrance exam. Candidates can challenge their responses by the payment of Rs. 100 through the official website. Using the answer key, the candidate can able to compare their responses with the official version and calculate the total number of correct attempts and consequently the expected score. For marking purpose, the candidate has to use the marking scheme prescribed by exam officials. If the candidate finds that the score thus calculated is not similar to the declared score, the candidate may approach exam officials to review the matter.

  • Login to the website by using the roll number and question booklet number.
  • View the answer key on the screen by clicking on the submit button.

Joint Entrance Examination Council (JEEC), Uttar Pradesh, officials will declare the result of JEECUP 2020 in online mode only and will not be sent separately to the candidate. The result-cum-score consists of the actual marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance and also the qualifying status. Only those candidates who qualify in the entrance exam will be eligible for participation in counselling and seat allotment process, which will be held subsequent to the declaration of result. 

For the purpose of admission, only the group-wise State Open Rank will be taken into account; any other ranks included with the rank is for information purpose only. 

How to check JEECUP 2020 Result

  • Log-in using roll number and date of birth
  • Upon successfully logging in, the result will appear on the screen
  • Download and take a printout of the result

JEECUP 2020 Cutoff

The cutoff of JEECUP 2020 will be released for each of the four seat allotment rounds, and will indicate the last rank for which seat is allotted for that round. The cutoff usually varies from year to year, as it depends on variables like number of seats available, applications received for admission, and also category of the candidate. Nevertheless, the candidate will get a fair enough idea as to what rank he/she will have to secure to have a good chance at admission. 

Mode of Counselling: Online

The counselling of JEECUP 2020 will be open to only those candidates who have qualify in the entrance exam. There will be three counselling and seat allotment rounds. The counselling process will be conducted online, with eligible candidates having to register for counselling. Spot round will be held if vacant seats are left for admission.

The allotment of seats will be based on options entered category and merit rank of the candidate. Candidates who have been allotted seats will be required to pay a seat acceptance fee of Rs. 3000 through MOPS to confirm their seats. 

Candidate who are allotted seats will have two options – freeze and float. If the candidate is open to up-gradation, the candidate needs to opt for float, or else the candidate has to opt freeze.

Board doesn't matter.Eligibility for appealing in JEECUP requires a candidates to have domicile of Uttar Pradesh state.Candidates who have passed their 10th or 12th from the schools situated in Uttar Pradesh board are eligible for the appearing in this exam.

To get an admission in government college in Lucknow you have to get a rank below 100. Then only you will get an admission. Before that you have to know if the college considers jee for admission. If yes then you can apply. If you have any reservation then that would be very helpful for you.

Rank cutoff is low i.e. below 100 for CSE and ECE and information technology branches. for rest you can easily get an admission if you get a rank below 1k-2k.
