About JEE Main 2019
Candidates who appeared in the JEE Main 2019 examination in both January and April session can make changes in their category details now. The correction window will be closed on April 17 at 5:00 pm. Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main is the national level undergraduate engineering entrance exam. The entrance exam is the gateway for the admission to various B.Tech/B.E. programmes offered by 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 23 CFTIs. From 2019, JEE Main will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), twice a year in computer-based mode only. Also, JEE Main is the qualifying test for JEE Advanced through which candidates can get admission to 23 IITs. JEE Main 2019 will be held for 2 papers where Paper-I is for B.Tech admissions and Paper-II for B.Arch admissions. States like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Nagaland & some other institutions use JEE Main ranks for admissions; however, admission criteria for the mentioned states will be notified by the concerned state authorities only.
The new changes in JEE Main 2019 allow for candidates to appear twice for the entrance exam in a given year. The better of the two scores will be used for the purpose of ranking as per the regulations laid by the authorities. Form 2019, Bihar and Jharkhand have joined the JEE Main system and the state entrance exams have been done away with.

Before proceeding towards filling the application form, do refer and meet the mentioned below JEE Main 2019 eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities:
Age Criteria: NTA has removed the age limit. However, candidates need to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2017, 2018 or should be appearing for the same in 2019 in irrespective of their birth date.
Qualifying Examinations: Must have passed class 12 or equivalent exam in 2017 or 2018. Also, candidates appearing for class 12 board examination in 2019 will be also eligible for JEE Main 2019.
Subjects to be Qualified in Qualifying Examination: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, Language and any other subject
Qualifying Marks for Admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs: Must score the minimum of 75% marks or should be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category minimum scores required is 65%.
For JEE Main Paper-II- Candidates seeking admission to the architecture course must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination. No Diploma holder is eligible for the entrance exam.

The JEE Main 2019 application form was released in online mode by NTA. The application form for both the papers were same. Candidates could fill application form either for Paper-I or Paper-II or for both. To fill the application form of JEE Main 2019, the candidates had to follow the given below steps:
Fill Authentication Form- Before filling the application form, candidates will have to register using their either Aadhaar Card number, Passport Number, ration card number, bank account or any other valid Govt. identity number provided.
Fill JEE Main 2019 Application Form – Enter the requisite details related to academic, personal, exam qualified, contact information etc.
Upload Scanned Images of Documents – Upload the scanned images of requisite documents in the prescribed format and dimensions.

JEE Main 2019 Correction Window- The correction is available now for the candidates who are appeared in both January and April examination. They can change their category detail until April 16 (5:00 pm). NTA had provided JEE Main 2019 application correction facility from March 11 to 15. During this time period, candidates were able to edit some of the prescribed information in their application form. Also, fees had to be paid for the corrections as requisite by the authorities.

Number of Shifts: Paper-I will be held in two shifts per day (9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm)

JEE Main Paper 2 Exam Pattern
Given below is exam pattern of JEE Main 2019 of Paper-II for B.Arch course:
Mode of Exam- Mathematics and Aptitude Test was held partially in computer-based test mode, while the drawing exam will be in offline (pen and paper based) mode
Duration of Examination- 3 Hours
Number of Shifts- Paper-2 was held in two shift
Sections- Mathematics, General Aptitude, Drawing Skills
Type of Questions- Objective questions in Mathematics and Aptitude. While drawing test will assess drawing and sketching abilities.
Number of Questions in Each Section: Aptitude – 50, Mathematics – 30 and Drawing - 3
Marking Scheme: Every correct answer will fetch 4 marks, whereas 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. In case of drawing questions, it will be of total 70 marks. The marks for each question will be mentioned along with it.
NTA has provided JEE Main 2019 mock test for all the aspiring candidates from September 1. The exam conducting authority has setup a countrywide network of Test Practice Centres (TPCs) for students of rural/urban areas. Accordingly to the official, 2,697 TPCs have been established in various Schools and engineering colleges with computer centres. To avail this facility, candidates will have to do online registration and visit these TPCs on Saturday/Sunday by per the slot allotted to them. The TPCs have a downloaded Computer Based Test (CBT) which is similar to the actual JEE Main 2019 exam. Also, authorities have developed an app which enables candidates to choose the nearest JEE Main 2019 mock test centres.
Apart from this, candidates can also attempt JEE Main 2019 mock test in online mode. Candidates can access the mock test of JEE Main 2019 without any log in credentials. The mock test is available for allboth Paper I and Paper II. However, in case of Paper II, mock test for drawing section is not available. Not only this, candidates can even download the mock test questions and practice it in offline mode.
Attempting mock test will enable candidates to be familiar with the exam pattern, examination mode, and importantly they will be able to analyze their preparation. Apart from this, attempting mock test will enable candidates to learn time management which plays a crucial part in the entrance exam.
JEE Main Admit Card 2019 is available in online mode from March 21. The details like name, exam centre address, admit card number, roll number, timing of examination, paper appearing for, gender and more will be displayed on the admit card of JEE Main 2019.
How to download the JEE Main 2019 admit card?
Candidates can download the JEE Main admit card by two methods:
- Using their Application Number and Password
- Using their Application Number and Date of Birth
However, before downloading the admit card candidates must check all the information furnished on it. JEE Main 2019 admit card is an important document. Without admit card of JEE Main 2019 candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

- A valid photo id proof (College/ School ID Card, Driving License, Passport) to the exam centre.
- A passport size photograph (same as in application form)
- PwD certificate if applicable

Documents Required at Exam
- JEE Main 2019 admit card
- A valid photo ID (passport, college/school ID card, driving license)
- One passport size photograph (to be pasted on attendance sheet). Make sure, photograph is identical to the one uploaded during filling of the application form
- PwD category candidates will have to carry a copy of the PwD certificate in the prescribed format.
NTA has released the official JEE Main 2019 answer key & recorded responses of multiple choice questions of Paper-1 and Paper-2 in PDF format on April 14. The answer key of JEE Main 2019 will carry the correct responses of the questions asked during the examination. Candidates will the help of JEE Main 2019 answer key can match their responses and calculate their expected score.
In case of any discrepancy in the answer key of JEE Main 2019 candidates have been given a window to raise the objection against it by April 16. To challenge the answer key, candidates will have to fill the online application form and pay the processing fees of Rs.1000 per question. Candidates must note that challenge of answer keys will also be accepted in online mode. The result of JEE Main 2019 will be compiled on the basis of final answer keys.

JEE Main 2019 result will be announced in online mode by the authorities. As Paper-I will be conducted in multi-shifts, raw marks obtained by the candidates in different sessions will be converted to NTA Score.
The authorities will merge the calculated NTA scores for all the sessions. The result of JEE Main 2019 for January attempt was announced on January 19. This result comprises of four NTA scores for each of the three subjects- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry along with the total marks obtained in Paper-1 of JEE Main 2019 for the first attempt.
The same procedure will be applied to calculate the JEE Main 2019 result for second attempt.
JEE Main 2019 Merit List:
NTA will release the merit list of JEE Main 2019 on April 30 in online mode. There will be a combined rank list of JEE Main 2019 for both the attempts which will mention the details of candidates who will qualify for JEE Advanced 2019. The merit list will be prepared through normalization procedure based on the percentile score. The percentile score of a candidate will be the score obtained after using normalization method (instead of the raw marks of the candidate) which will be used for preparation of the merit lists.
The four NTA scores for each of the candidates in Paper-1 for both the first and second attempt will be merged for compilation of result and preparation of overall JEE Main 2019 rank list using the normalization formula.
Candidates who will appear in both the attempts- their best of the two NTA scores (total) will be considered to prepare the merit list.
In case of a tie, inter-se merit of such candidates will be used to break it.

Mode of Counselling: Online
The counselling and seat allotment procedure for JEE Main 2019 will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority ( JoSAA). All the qualified candidates will have to register themselves for JoSAA counselling in online mode. The counselling will be based on candidate’s merit, availability of seats and preference of choices. Before commencement of actual JoSAA round, two mock seat allotment rounds will be conducted by the authorities so that candidates can know about their chances in their desired institute. After the mock rounds, seven main rounds of seat allotment will be held.

JEE Main 2019 Paper-II was conducted in two shifts on April 7. The normalized scores also called as NTA scores of all the candidates who appeared in first attempt will be declared on April 30. The result of JEE Main 2019 will also comprise of normalized marks obtained in Paper II of JEE Main 2019. For the January session, Paper 2ii was conducted on January 8.
What will JEE Main Result 2019 Carry?
Candidates appeared in both the attempts- JEE Result 2019 will comprise of total normalized scores obtained by the candidate in first attempt as well as in second attempt along with All India rank and All India category rank.
Candidate appeared in one attempt- NTA scores obtained by the candidate in that particular attempt along with All India rank and All India category rank.
Preparation of Rank List of JEE Main 2019
The raw marks obtained by candidates who have appeared in JEE Main 2019 will be normalized for the compilation of scores and to equalise the difficulty levels of both attempts. The merit list and ranks will be prepared through normalization procedure based on percentile score.
Candidates appeared in both the attempts- the better of the two scoress will be considered while preparing the merit list of JEE Main 2019.
In case of a tie- If two or more candidates will obtain equal total marks in JEE Main 2019, inter-se merit of such candidates will be taken into consideration.
