CENTAC Admission Application Details

CENTAC Application Fee

  • Candidates of General category have to pay Rs. 600 as application fees while candidates of SC Category will have to pay Rs. 300
  • Candidates can pay the application fee through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card.

CENTAC Application Form Procedure for Candidates of Puducherry

  • The first step while filling up the application form of CENTAC is to register or sign up.

  • Candidates need to enter particulars like Contact Number, Email ID, Date of Birth, Login, Password and confirm Password.

  • Once this process is done, then the candidates need to sign up.

  • The next step involves the candidates to provide Personal Details, Academic Details, Payment Details, etc.

  • They need to select category and the choice of courses they aspire to apply in.

  • For the applicants from the other states, it is a mandatory prerequisite to enter details of JEE Main during filling up academic details in the Online of CENTAC Application Form.  

  • Once the submission of the application form of CENTAC is done, an Application Number is generated for the registered candidates, which they must procure/save in order to use it for any future reference.  

  • Unless or until the print out of the filled in Online Application Form, along with prescribed documents (attested), reach the office of  CENTAC authorities, your application will not be considered valid.

  • The candidates need to mention the generated Application Number on the top right side of all the enclosed documents, with the Online Application Form. 

Note: Candidates are advised not to submit their original documents of verification, only photocopies are required. 

 

CENTAC Application Form Procedure for candidates of other States/UTs

  • Candidates, who have passed HSC or equivalent examination, can apply for CENTAC only on the basis of their JEE Main scores. 

  • The candidates of other States/UTs applying for CENTAC, must fill up the Online Application Form for CENTAC using their JEE Main marks (score card) within the time frame.

  • Along with the downloaded copy of duly filled in Online application form, such candidates need to enclose the following documents (attested), with CENTAC Application Form Number written on each one of them.  

  • Printout of the downloaded, duly filled in Online application form of CENTAC needs to be sent to the Convenor CENTAC office, PEC Campus, Pillaichavady, Puducherry – 605 014 through Courier/Post.

  • Birth Certificate or SSLC ABD Matriculation Mark sheet for Age Proof

  • Nationality Certificate (if applicable)

  • HSC or equivalent exam Mark Sheet

  • Community certificate (if applicable)

  • Residence Certificate (if applicable)

  • Nativity Certificate (if applicable)

  • SSLC/Matriculation Examination Marks Sheet

  • Acknowledgement Card (Self addressed and affixed with a stamp of Rs 6)

  • Recent passport color photograph pasted in the specified place on the Application Form

  • JEE Main Hall ticket and score card (Only in case of other State/UTs Candidates)

In addition to the above documents, the candidates of Puducherry also need to enclose the following documents.

  • Permanent Integrated Certificate (if applicable)

  • Special category certificate (if applicable)

  • Certificate of registration for French Nationals of Indian origin (if applicable)

Important Instructions related to CENTAC Application Form submission

  • Candidates need to affix a recent, passport size photograph at the designated space. The photograph needs to be attested by the Head of the institution last studied in or by a Gazetted officer.
  • The parents of the applicant need to sign the printout of CENTAC Online Application Form at the specified space. Signature of the applicant will also be required on it.
  • The printout of Online CENTAC Application Form, attested copies of the aforementioned documents and DD for CENTAC Online Application Fee need to be sent through courier/post or personally to,

CENTAC Admission Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Candidates (Home State)

  • Candidates aspiring to apply for CENTAC need to be Indian Nationals. French Nationals residing in UT of Puducherry, are also eligible to apply but they can apply only under the Treaty of Cession.

  • Aspiring applicants are required to meet the Domicile requirements of Puducherry.

  • Though there is no lower age limit, but the candidates need not to be more than 21 years of age (upper age limit). Upper age limit for SC candidates is relaxable upto three years i.e age of SC candidates must not be more than 24 years of age.

  • Aspiring candidates should have passed H.Sc (Academic) examination or any equivalent exam from the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu, with a minimum 45% aggregate marks (General category) and 40% aggregate marks (OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC category candidates) in Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subject, and in one of these subjects - Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology /Botany & Zoology as optional subject.

  • If a candidate has passed the qualifying exam in supplementary examination and has submitted the Application Form for CENTAC within the timeframe, then he/she needs to submit his/her mark-sheet to CENTAC within 7 days of Result publication date.

  • Candidates belonging to SC category can appear in the admission process for three (3) times whereas candidates be'longing to other categories can appear in the admission process for two (2) times only.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Candidates (Other State)

  • Candidates aspiring to apply for CENTAC must be an Indian Nationals.

  • They must have appeared in JEE Main in the same year, as they will be required to JEE Main Registration Number while filling CENTAC  Application Form.

  • There is no lower age limit, but the candidates need not to be more than 21 years of age (upper age limit). Upper age limit for SC candidates is relaxable upto three years i.e age of SC candidates must not be more than 24 years of age.

  • The candidates should have passed class XII or any equivalent exam from the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu, with a minimum 45% aggregate marks (General category) and 40% aggregate marks (OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC category candidates) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology/Botany/Zoology.

CENTAC Admission Counselling Details

  • Aspirants of CENTAC are required to pay Rs 750 (Rs 350 for SC/ST candidates) as counselling fee.
  • They need to pay the fee for counselling through Demand Draft in favor of The Convenor, CENTAC, payable at Puducherry.
  • Candidates must pay heed to this that Counselling Fee of CENTAC will get forfeited only if a candidate successfully clears the first round of CENTAC Counselling.
  • In rest of the following rounds of counselling, the candidates need to pay Rs 750 (General Category) and Rs 300 (SC/ST Category). This fee collected during the subsequent counselling rounds will be non-refundable irrespective of Seat Allotment.

Important instructions pertaining to CENTAC Counselling

  • Counselling for CENTAC may be conducted in multiple rounds.

  • The Counselling for CENTAC is based on factors like Category, Merit List and Seat Availability.

  • Eligible candidates are invited for counselling through call, call letter, official website or through public notification in local newspapers.

  • It is mandatory for eligible candidates to personally appear for counselling. Candidates failing to attend the counselling personally can appear in the subsequent counselling rounds with prior permission and as per the vacancies.  

  • For candidates applying under Other State/UTs quota, CENTAC Counselling is being conducted on the basis of JEE Main Ranks/Scores.

Document Verification of CENTAC Counselling

  • Candidates are required to produce their original documents for verification prior to CENTAC Counselling. 

  • In case any candidate’s certificates are submitted in another institution, then he/she must produce a letter on this, signed and issued by Head of the institute where the candidate is studying.

  • In that case, the admission authority will conduct document verification and counselling on the basis of the attested/true copies of the relevant documents/certificates.

  • The candidates are advised to keep all the copies of all documents handy, so as to submit them to CENTAC officials during CENTAC Counselling.

  • For document verification, candidates applying under Other States/UTs quota are required to produce their original certificates along with their Marks/Score of JEE Main.
