Assam PAT 2024 -  Directorate of Technical Education will release the Assam PAT 2024 application form on its official website in an online mode. About Assam PAT 2024

Assam PAT (Polytechnic Admission Test) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam for admission into various diploma courses offered by polytechnic institutes in the state of Assam. The exam will be usually conducted in the month of May or June every year.

The Assam PAT 2024 exam will be conducted in offline mode (Black ball Pen and OMR Sheet) and will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The exam will be divided into three sections: Mathematics, Science. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours.

After the exam, the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam, will release a merit list based on the candidates' performance in the Assam polytechnic entrance exam 2024. Candidates who qualify for the exam will be called for counselling, where they can select the polytechnic institute and the course of their choice based on their rank in the merit list.

The exam conducting authorities will release the Assam PAT 2024 eligibility criteria along with the official notification. The eligibility criteria of Assam PAT 2024 will include the conditions that students are required to meet to be offered admission.

Assam PAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Qualifying exam – The candidate needs to have passed H.S.L.C or any equivalent exam in a single sitting with a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Science. Minimum aggregate marks in the two subjects for SC and ST candidates are 35% and 33% respectively.

Physical fitness – The candidate needs to be physically and mentally fit.

Residential eligibility – The candidate needs to be an Indian national and permanent resident of Assam.

Assam PAT 2024 Result - Tie-breaking procedure

In the scenario where two or more candidates obtain the same marks, the merit rank will be decided in the following sequence:

• Candidates who have higher marks in Mathematics and Science in qualifying exams will be ranked higher

• The candidate who has higher aggregate marks in the qualifying exam will be given a higher rank

• Finally, a tie will be decided based on the lottery which will be drawn by the Chairperson of the Selection Committee.

The cutoff for Assam PAT (Polytechnic Admission Test) 2024 will be released by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam after the declaration of the result. The cutoff marks are the minimum marks required by the candidate to be eligible for the counselling and seat allotment process. The cutoff marks are determined based on various factors such as the number of candidates appearing for the exam, difficulty level of the exam, and availability of seats.

Mode of Counselling: Offline

Only those students who qualified the Assam Polytechnic exam are eligible to participate in the PAT counselling process. Students have to first get themselves registered in order to participate in the Assam PAT counselling 2024. The authorities publish the status of the Assam PAT allotment for each round of institutions and branches of the candidates on the official website. 

After the publication of the allotment, candidates have to submit the acceptance letter in the specified format to receive a final allotment of the institution and branch. Only those candidates who will accept the admission within the specified period will be considered for further up-gradation of their choice of institution and branch in further rounds of Assam PAT counselling 2024.

The allotment of the seat will be based on the merit rank of the candidate and choices opted for admission. Please note candidates who are ranked higher in the merit list would be given preference during the seat allotment process.
