TANCA 2018 - Candidates who have qualified TANCET 2018 or GATE 2018 can now apply for counselling in online mode from July 6 to 17. While non-GATE candidates can use their existing mail id as user id to log-in, GATE candidates need to apply afresh. After logging in, the candidate has to enter all relevant details. Anna University is conducting the Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA) 2018 for admissions to M.Tech/M.E programmes offered by engineering colleges/institutions in the state. To apply for TANCA 2018, candidates need to qualify TANCET 2018 or GATE. Candidates who will qualify GATE 2018 are also require to submit TANCA 2018 application form. However, GATE qualified candidates weren't required to appear in TANCET, except for Life Sciences paper where candidates need to qualify the entrance test. Based on the merit list of TANCA 2018, counselling and seat allotment will be held for all applicants who have qualified the entrance exam or GATE. The application form of TANCA 2018 is available July 6-17 in online mode. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can only fill the application form of TANCA 2018. Along with the application form, candidates need to pay Rs 500 (Rs 250 for reserved category) as the application fee. Mentioned below are the steps to fill the TANCA application form 2018:

TANCA Eligibility Criteria 2018
To participate in the admission process, candidates will have to meet and check the eligibility criteria of TANCA 2018. Candidates will be able to proceed further in the admission process only if they meet the TANCA 2018 eligibility criteria prescribed by the Anna University. Check and refer mentioned below eligibility criteria to be a part of TANCA 2018:
Age Criteria- No age limit
Qualifying Examination: Candidates must complete their B.Tech from a recognized institute. Not only this, candidates with 10+3 years diploma are eligible for admission. However, these candidates must have diploma awarded by State Board of Technical Education along with AMIE certificate.
Qualifying Marks: Candidates belonging to General category must obtain an aggregate of 50% marks in their qualifying examination. While reserved category candidates should have obtained 45%.
Entrance Exam- Candidates will have to qualify TANCET 2018 or GATE 2018. However, GATE candidates who will qualify in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (LE) will also have to appear and qualify TANCET 2018.
Domicile: Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu will be given more preference. However, candidates belonging to other states can apply under open category.

TANCA Merit List 2018
Anna University will publish the merit list of TANCA 2018 tentatively in the month of August in online mode. TANCA 2018 merit list will be strictly based on scores of the candidates obtained in the qualifying examination (TANCET/GATE). To check the merit list, candidates need to log in using their GATE application number/ TANCET hall ticket number and date of birth. TANCA merit list 2018 will be released in two categories, they are:
TANCET Category: This merit list will be prepared for the candidates who will appear in TANCET 2018. It will be prepared based on the scores obtained by candidates in the entrance exam.
GATE Category: Based on the GATE 2018 score, this merit list will be prepared. A separate merit list will also be prepared based on the GATE 2018 scores in Engineering Science and Life Science. Combining the two, a final merit list of TANCA 2018 will be prepared.
In case, if more than one candidate has obtained the same marks in TANCET 2018, in such case candidate having a higher percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree examination will be given higher rank.
TANCA Counselling 2018
The counselling of TANCA 2018 will be held in offline mode. Candidates will have to be physically present for the counselling session where they have to produce original documents for verification. Apart from this, candidates will have to pay counselling fees through Demand Draft drawn in favour of "The Secretary, TANCA, Anna University" payable at Chennai. Once fee is paid, candidates will be allotted seats based on their ranking in the merit and preference. A provisional seat allotment letter will be issued to the shortlisted candidates. Candidates will have to confirm their admission by reporting at their allotted institute and paying their tuition fees.
