NIT Calicut Placement Report 2018 – National Institute of Technology, Calicut was established in 1961 and was known as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC) until 2002. NIT Calicut is one of the few universitites in the region which has a Supercomputer of their own. In 2018, the institute was ranked 50 among the engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). It was ranked 20th among the engineering colleges in Indian in 2017 by The Week. The first phase of placement drive started from the first week of August, 2018.
Based on the data provided by NIT Calicut, Careers360 after analysing presents the NIT Calicut Placement Report for 2018. NIT Calicut would be hosting 54th batch of students who would graduate from the institute this year. The placement drive for the academic year 2017-2018 has been recorded as 74% of the registered undergraduate students. Around 130 companies took part in the placement drives major being the Amazon, Microsoft, DirectIT, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Oracle ST Tech, Bajaj, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors and Maruti.

As many as 698 offers, including 19 double offeres and 99 internship offers, have been made by the 134 companies to the B.Tech and M.Tech students of the 2017-2018 academic year. 455 students out of the total 619 B.Tech students and 78 out of 275 M.Tech students have been successfully placed. 100% placements were seen for the B.Tech branch of Computer Science and Engineering, 93% in Electronics and Communication Engineering, 78% in Mechanical Engineering, 73% in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 64% in Production Engineering, 55% in Chemical Engineering, 52% in Civil Engineering, 25% in Engineering Physics and 11% in Biotechnology branches.

It is difficult to determine the cutoffs for an OBC candidate to get admission into the national Institute Of Technology, New Delhi as the cutoffs keep changing every year. The factors that affect the cutoffs are the number of applicants for that course, the difficulty level of the examination, the previous years' cutoffs and and the performance in the entrance examination.

see artificial intelligence and internet of things are new cutting edge technologies. any stream of btech students can pursue this. as it is new in industry thats why it may not included in any colleges cse syllabus. now come to computer networking, it is included in cse, ece, electrical, IT, applied electronics branches syllabus of btech. there is no computer science courses in india with the specialization in the mentioned subjects of yours. computer science engineering is a 4 year course and you will get opportunity to learn many things including AI, IOT, computer networking etc.
