NIRF Ranking 2020 - Top Govt Engineering Colleges in India- HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2020 rankings on June 11 through a live session on his official Twitter account. As per NIRF 2020 engineering ranking, 94 govt. engineering colleges have been included in the list of top 200 engineering colleges of the country. Indian Institute of Technology Madras has emerged as the top engineering college of India in the NIRF 2020 ranking engineering. It is followed by IIT Delhi. Top Government Engineering Colleges: NIRF 2020 Vs NIRF 2019 (Comparative Analysis)
If we compare the NIRF 2020 ranking for government engineering colleges from the last year, then the first three places are retained as it is by Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay respectively. Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur which was ranked at 5th place in 2019 ranking has gained one place and has been ranked at 4th place in NIRF 2020 engineering ranking.

Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur- The institute has moved up by 18 places to rank at the 35th position. It was ranked 53rd in the previous year ranking.
Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar- The institute has moved up by 61 places to rank 52nd in NIRF 2020 ranking engineering. It was ranked 113rd in NIRF 2019 ranking.
Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai- The institute has improved its ranking by 34 places to rank at 71st position. It was ranked 105th in the previous year ranking.
Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Kancheepuram- The institute has moved up by 15 places in NIRF 2020 ranking to rank at 182nd place. It was ranked 197th in the previous year ranking.
North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Nirjuli- This institute of Arunachal Pradesh has moved up by 28 places. It has been ranked at 145th rank in NIRF 2020 ranking. It was ranked 173rd in the previous year ranking.

Top Entrance Exams
Top engineering entrance exams for admission in the top engineering colleges as per NIRF 2020 ranking are-
JEE Main- National Testing Agency conducts JEE Main examination for admission to B.E/B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Plan courses offered by NITs, IIITs and CFITs. JEE Main is conducted twice a year as a computer-based exam. JEE Main 2020 is scheduled to be conducted from July 18 to 23.
JEE Advanced- IIT Delhi will be conducting JEE Advanced 2020 on August 23. JEE Advanced is a computer-based examination for admission to 23 IITs of the country. Only the top 2,50,000 candidates who qualify JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.
GATE- It is a postgraduate engineering entrance exam for admission to M.E/M.Tech/Phd programs offered by NITs, IIITs, IITs and CFTIs. GATE 2020 has been conducted on February 1, 2, 8, and 9. GATE 2021 exam dates will be announced by the authorities later.
