KCET 2019 – Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the document verification schedule for KCET 2019 counselling. The authorities have released the result of KCET 2019 on May 25. The KCET result 2019 has been declared in online mode and can be accessed through KEA portal using registration number. Candidates can also check the additional rank (spot rank) of KCET 2019. The authorities has earlier released the KCET 2019 answer key (provisional) on May 1 to help candidates calculate their expected score. KCET 2019 was held on April 29 to 30. The application process for KCET 2019 was available till March 20, with correction facility in the KCET 2019 application form till April 1. KCET 2019 was conducted for admissions into the participating engineering colleges of the state. The examination was held for two papers – Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics & Chemistry). Based on the scores secured in KCET, the candidates will be allotted seats into the institutes. The result of KCET 2019 has been announced on May 25 by KEA. The candidates can access the result in online mode. Details of the candidates’ performance in the examination i.e., their secured scores and ranks will be present in the KCET 2019 result. Allotment of seats will be done according to the individual result of the candidates.

All of the correct answers to the questions asked in the examination have been released through the final answer key of KCET 2019. Using the answer key, the candidates were able to calculate their scores after comparing their responses to the correct answers as released by the authorities. The provisional answer key of KCET 2019 was released on May 1. The window for candidates to raise objections against the answer key with valid proof was open from May 4 to May 8. The objections were considered by the authorities and the final KCET 2019 answer key will be declared.
KEA has released the admit card of KCET 2019 on April 12. Registered candidates can now access their admit card in online mode. KCET 2019 admit card is an important document which has to be kept safely and produced at the examination venue. Failure to produce the admit card will lead to candidate’s inability to attempt the examination. Various information such as the exam centre address, timings and more will be present in the admit card.
Steps to access KCET 2019 Admit Card
The candidates will have to submit their KCET 2019 application number and date of birth.

Download and print out the admit card
All candidates are required to meet certain eligibility criteria of KCET 2019 for admissions into the participating institutes. The criteria will consists of certain requirements related to the candidates’ age, scores and more. If the candidates do not meet the criteria, then there are chances of his application form getting rejected.
KCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality – The candidates must be of Indian nationality
Domicile – Should have studied and passed from a recognized institutes in Karnataka for a minimum of 7 years (from 1st standard to 2nd PUC/12th standard) as on July 1, 2019.
Academic Qualification – The candidates should have passed 12th standard examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of the following – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Computer. Should have also studied English.
Marks Required – The candidates should have secured atleast 45% aggregate marks in the three subjects in 12th standard examination. SC/ST/OBC candidates should have scored atleast 40%.
The application form of KCET 2019 has been closed by KEA on March 20. The last date to apply for KCET 2019 was extended to March 20 which was February 28 earlier. Candidates have to fill application form according to the information required. An incomplete or incorrect application form will be rejected. Before filling the KCET 2019 application form, the candidates were advised to read the eligibility criteria.
Step 1 – Registration: Firstly, the candidates had to register after selecting their nationality and school board. The 13 digit “Student Number” PUE Department had to be submitted by the candidates. Personal details such as name, parent’s name, date of birth, email id, mobile number and more also had to be provided for registration. After registration, the application number and password was sent to the candidates.
Step 2- Filling of KCET 2019 Application Form: Using the application number and password, the candidates had to log in and fill the application form of KCET 2019. Personal, academic and contact information had to be submitted.
Step 3 – Uploading of Scanned Documents: The signature, photograph and left thumb impression of the candidate had to be scanned and uploaded as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities. The candidates’ parent’s left thumb impression also had to be uploaded.
Step 4 – Payment of Application Fee: Candidates had to pay the application fee through online (net banking/credit card/debit card) or offline mode (e-challan).
Step 5 – Submission and Print out of Application Form: Finally, after reviewing their provided information, the candidates had to submit the application form and take a print out. The print out had to be attested by Principal of 12th standard of the institute/school/college that the candidate is currently studying at or by any Gazetted Officer.

The exam centres of KCET 2019 were the places where the entrance examination was conducted by the authorities. While filling the application form, the candidates had to select their preferred exam cities. Allotment of exam centre was done according to the preferred exam city and availability of the centre. Details about the exam centre was present in the admit card. An exam city may have multiple KCET 2019 exam centres. For the previous session, there were 53 exam cities involved in the examination.
How to Prepare for KCET 2019?
While preparing for the examination, the candidates were advised to check the exam pattern of KCET 2019. Through the exam pattern, the candidates were able to get familiar with how the examination is conducted. Details about the mode of exam, type of questions asked, marking scheme and more was made available in the KCET 2019 exam pattern. Using the exam pattern, the candidates were able to be prepare well for the examination.

By referring to the syllabus of KCET 2019, the candidates were able to set up their schedule for preparation. Understanding which topics and chapters had to be studied for the examination could help the candidates prepare well for the examination. KCET 2019 syllabus was the same as the syllabus of First and Second Pre-University Course (PUC) as specified by Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State. The candidates expected the topics of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to be present in the syllabus.
Using the sample papers of KCET 2019, the candidates were able to practically apply whatever they had studied for the examination. The sample papers replicated the exam pattern of KCET 2019 or consisted of the previous year question papers. By practicing using the sample papers, the candidates had a clearer concept about the paper pattern, division of topics and more. Time management could also be practiced by the candidates using the sample papers.
The authorities will determine the cutoff of KCET 2019 after considering many factors related to the examination. KCET 2019 cutoff will act as a screening process and will consist of minimum marks required to have higher chances for admissions into the participating institutes. The cutoff will be different as per the category, course and college selected by the candidates.
The candidates will be conducting the counselling of KCET 2019 in offline mode. Firstly, the candidates will have to verify their documents from June 6. After verification, the candidates will have to fill and lock their choices of courses and colleges. Filling of choices has to be done according to the preference of the candidates. After the mock allotment, the candidates will also have to provision to modify their choices.
The seat allotment of KCET 2019 will be announced in online mode tentatively in the third week of July. Allotment of candidates will be done according to ranks secured by the candidates along with the selected preferences and availability of seats. All of the candidates who are allotted seats will have to visit their allotted institutes for document verification. KEA will be conducting the seat allotment process in two rounds along with an additional extended round. Payment of required fees has to be done by the candidates for confirmation of admission.
Admissions into the participating institutes of KCET 2019 will be done on the basis of the candidates’ performance in the examination. Around 220 government colleges/private aided/private un-aided/institutes of Karnataka will be participating in the examination of KCET 2019.
