KCET Reservation Criteria 2020 - Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will release details about KCET 2020 reservation criteria along with the official brochure. Candidate will be able to check information about the various categories included and number of seats offered by reservation criteria of KCET 2020. To be eligible for KCET reservation criteria 2020, the candidates will have to meet some criteria and also possess the necessary documents. Under KCET 2020 reservation criteria, categories such as rural candidates, J&K migrants, defence personnel and more are included. While filling out the application form, KCET candidates will be required to fill their reservation category. KCET 2020 will be conducted tentatively in the final week of April as a pen and paper based exam. The result of KCET 2020 will be declared tentatively in the fourth week of May.

KCET 2020 Reservation Criteria

Candidates will be able to check the reservation criteria of KCET 2020 according to the various categories specified by the government. To be eligible for reservation, the candidates will have to meet the criteria and should also possess the required certificates. KCET 2020 Reservation Criteria Eligibility

NCC Special Category

  • Candidates should have participated in the Republic Day camp conducted by NCC Director General of New Delhi from Karnataka OR

  • Should have participated in All India Thal Sainik Camp (Boys) – TSC/All India Thal Sainik Camp (Girls) – TSC (G)/All India Nau Sainik Camp – NSC/All India Vayu Sainik Camp – VSC.

  • Candidates should also hold B-certificate, obtained during the 5 years of study in Karnataka (between 8th and 12th standard).

  • Should have participated in camp/courses i.e., NIC, Mountaineering, BLC, ALC, RCTC, Trekking, Army, Navy and Air Force & Hospital Attachments and should also possess B-Certificate during five years of education in Karnataka.

  • Candidates should have participated in All India Mavalankar Shooting Championship with KAR and GOA Director Team.

  • Should have participated in National Level Youth Exchange Program and Foreign Naval Cruise conducted by DG, NCC. Apart from this, candidates who have been selected for DG NCC team and hold B-Certificate obtained during five years of education in Karnataka will also be eligible.

  • Cadets finally selected as a part of DG NCC team to participate in All India Mavalankar Shooting Championship at National Level and Youth Exchange Programmes and Foreign Naval Cruise organised by DG, NCC will be eligible.

Sports Special Category

  • Candidates should have won National level cup/medals in Super-A games or B-games during five years of basic education (8th to 12th standard) in Karnataka.

Scouts and Guide Special Category

  • Candidates who have received ‘President’s Award’ as ‘scouts/guides’ during five years of education from Class 8 to 12 in Karnataka will be eligible.

  • Candidate falling under this category are required to show “President's Award” certificate at the time document verification with other certificates.

OBC/SC/ST under Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B

  • Candidates will have to produce caste certificate/caste income certificate issued by concerned Jurisdictional Tahsildar in accordance with Government Regulations.

  • The candidates will also need to hold Form ‘D’ in case of ST and ST, Form ‘E’ in case of Category-I, Form ‘F’ in case of OBC like 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B.

Physically Disabled Category

  • For this category, the candidates will have to provide medical/disability certificate.

  • Should have at least 40% physical disability

Kannada Medium

For this category, the candidates should have studied in Kannada Medium from Class 1 to 10 standard.

Anglo-Indian Special Category

Candidates will have to produce a certificate issued by Registered Association of Anglo Indian Community of Karnataka and countersigned by Anglo Indian MLA appointed by the Government of India at the time of document verification.

Defence Special Category

  • Son/Daughter of Defence personnel

  • Candidates need to possess Defence Certificate.

Ex-Defence Category

  • Son/Daughter of ex-personnel of Defence services

  • Needs to possess Defence Certificate issued by Joint Director/Deputy Director.

Central Armed Police Force/Ex-CAPF

Candidates will have to possess a certificate issued by CAPF Unit mentioning candidate’ parent declaration that he/she was domicile of Karnataka at the time of joining CAPF service, during the document verification.

Rural

Candidates should have completed 10 years of basic education in rural areas/small urban areas/transitional areas as mentioned Municipal Corporation of Karnataka under Karnataka Municipalities Act. 1964 and Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976.

Supernumerary Quota

All candidates (including General category) are eligible for admissions under Supernumerary quota. However, they need to provide income certificate issued by concerned Tahasildar.

Jammu and Kashmiri Migrants

Son/Daughter of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants can claim seats under Jammu and Kashmiri Migrants quota.

Hyderabad Karnataka

  • Local candidates of areas/districts including Bidar, Gulbarga, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal and Bellary Fare can claim seat under this category.

  • Need to provide relevant eligibility certificate issued by the concerned Assistant Commissioner.

For admission through KCET one should have passed class 12th  with PCB for admission in B.Sc. Agriculture from a government recognized institute.
The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in PCB.

I am studying in 11 class and i have taken only NEET coaching and i dont have interest in it anymore .Now in the second year can i able to clear kcet ,is it possible to study the syllabus within a year.I want to take up veternary or else agriculture .Which has more scope .Iam from category 2A.

Hi Nirupadi,

Basically, the Karnataka Common Entrance Test is much easier than national exams like NEET. Of you are prepared for NEET, you are more than prepared for KCET. However, if you are starting now, one year is enough for preparation if you work hard and productively.  You should clear your basics properly and be thorough with your NCERT syllabus.

Both Veterinarian Studies and Agriculture have great scope in India and you should opt for a career in which you are interested and skilled.

What all Exams can 2 year Dopper attempt? Can I attempt JEE, KCET, VITEE, BITSAT, NEET, COMEDK? Am I eligible for these exam

You are eligible for all the exams you have listed except that for JEE Advaned. Because a student during Class 12th or one year dropper can appear for this exam.Two year droppers can't attempt this exam (JEE Advanced).

For kcet, the board marks counted will be only the theory marks or do practical marks also count?

Hello,

Whole mark will be considered i.e.300 (Physics,Chemistry,mathematics) . There is no partial consideration like thoery and lab marks.  They will consider total marks and it holds 50% to the total score in KCET and rest 50% is score from the entrance exam.

That score will determine your final rank under general category. if you have any reservation then the board will decide by which factor your rank will get divided.
