KCET 2020 - Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has ended the KCET application correction facility on March 27. Previously, the authorities had concluded the application process of KCET 2020 on March 16. All the registered candidates will be able to download the admit card of KCET 2020 from April 10. The authorities will conduct the entrance exam on April 22 and 23 for B.Tech admissions into the participating institutes of the state. KCET will be held as a pen and paper-based test and will consist of two papers – Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper-II (Physics & Chemistry). KCET 2020 result will be announced tentatively in the last week of May. On the basis of scores and ranks secured by the candidates in KCET 2020, allotment of seat will be done. There will be two rounds of seat allotment along with an additional extended round. KCET Admit Card 2020

KEA will release KCET 2020 admit card on April 10. Only those candidates who register for the entrance examination will be able to access the admit card in online mode. To access the admit card, the candidates will have to log in using the required credentials. Information regarding the time, date, venue address and more of KCET 2020 will be present in the admit card. While reporting to the exam centre, the candidates will have to produce the admit card of KCET along with a valid identity proof. Without the admit card, the candidates will not be allowed to attempt KCET 2020.

How to Download KCET 2020 Admit Card?

  • Go to the official website of KCET 2020.

  • Click on the admit card link.

  • Candidates will have to provide their application number and date of birth.

  • Click on Submit.

  • The displayed admit card has to be checked for any mistakes.

  • Finally, the admit card has to be downloaded and printed out for future use.

KCET Eligibility Criteria 2020

There are certain conditions and requirements that the candidates have to meet to participate in the admission procedure of KCET 2020. If the candidates are unable to meet the criteria, then they will be rejected from the allotment process. The eligibility criteria of KCET will include age limit, qualifying examination, marks required and more.

Candidates should be Indian


Should have studied for minimum 7 years and passed from a recognized institute in Karnataka (1st standard to 2nd PUC/12th standard) as on first week of July 2020

Academic Requirements

Candidates should have passed 12th standard examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory examination and any of the following - Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Computer.

Should have also studied English.

Marks Required

Minimum 45% aggregate marks should have been secured in three subjects in 12th standard qualifying examination. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the minimum aggregate marks is 40%.

KCET Application Form 2020

KEA has concluded the KCET 2020 application process. Candidates were able to fill the application form in online mode till March 16. Candidates were able to submit the application fee at designated banks till March 18, 2020. Valid information had to be submitted in the application form otherwise it will be rejected by the authorities. Without submitting the application form, the candidates will not be allowed to participate in the admission process.

How to Fill KCET 2020 Application Form?

Step 1 – Registration: In the first step, the candidates had to register by selecting their nationality and school board. Candidates were also required to submit their 13 digit “Student Number” PUE Department. Personal and contact details had to be submitted by the candidates. The application number and password will be sent to the candidates after registration.

Step 2 – Filling of Application Form: The required information had to be submitted by the candidates. All of the details to be submitted have to be valid in nature.

Step 3 – Uploading of Scanned Images: Next, the candidates had to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature and left thumb impression. The images to be uploaded had to be as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities. Candidates were also required to upload their parent’s left thumb impression.

Step 4 – Application Fee Payment: The required application fee had to be paid by the candidates using online (net banking/credit card/debit card) or offline mode (e-challan).

Step 5 – Print Out of Application Form: After reviewing the filled application form, the candidates had to submit it and print it out. Candidates had to get the print out attested by the Principal of 12th standard of the institute/school/college that they are currently studying at or by any Gazetted Officer.

KEA has released KCET 2020 exam pattern in which the details about the examination can be checked by the candidates. Using the exam pattern, the candidates will be able to know particulars regarding the examination such as mode, duration, type of questions, marking scheme and more. KCET Syllabus 2020

Candidates can now check the KCET 2020 syllabus on the official website. Information regarding the topics and chapters to be studied for the entrance examination will be present in the syllabus. The units of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be included in the syllabus. It should be noted that KCET syllabus will be similar to the syllabus of first and second Pre-University Course (PUC) as specified by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State. Candidates can use the syllabus to boost their preparation since they will be aware of what is to be studied beforehand.

KCET 2020 Sample Papers

During preparation, the candidates can use the sample papers of KCET to practice for the upcoming entrance examination. The sample papers will be similar to the examination question paper and solving it will make the candidates familiar with the examination pattern. Using the sample papers, the candidates will be able to know the type of questions, weightage distributions, marking scheme and more. Time management can also be practised by the candidates using the sample papers.

KCET Answer Key 2020

Through the answer key of KCET, the candidates will be able to check the correct answers to the questions asked in the entrance examination. The provisional answer key will be released first and the candidates will be able to calculate their probable secured scores by comparing their responses to the correct answers. Objections can be raised by the candidates till the allotted date. After the objections are reviewed, the authorities will release the KCET 2020 final answer key.

KCET Result 2020

KEA will declare the KCET 2020 result in online mode tentatively in the last week of May. Through the result, the candidates will be able to check their secured scores and ranks in the entrance examination. Using the login credentials, the candidates will be able to check the result of KCET 2020.

KCET Cutoff 2020

The authorities will prepare the KCET 2020 cutoff which will act as a screening process for admissions. The minimum marks to be secured for higher chances of admissions into the participating institutes will be available in the cutoff. Candidates will have to note that the cutoff of KCET will be different as per the candidate’s course, college and category.

KCET Counselling 2020

All the qualified candidates will be called to participate in the KCET 2020 counselling which will be conducted tentatively from the first week of June to the third week of August. In the counselling process, the candidates will first have to verify their documents and then fill the choice of colleges and courses as per their preference. A mock allotment will also be declared on the basis of choices made by the candidates. By checking the KCET mock allotment result, the candidates will be able to change the order of their choices before the final allotment.

KCET Seat Allotment 2020

KEA will be conducting the procedure of KCET 2020 seat allotment. Qualified candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of rank, preferences, category and availability of seats. Two rounds of seat allotment will be held by the authorities along with an additional extended round. Allotted candidates will have to confirm their admission by paying the required fee and visiting their respective institute for verification of documents.

KCET Participating Institutes 2020

On the basis of the secured ranks, the candidates will be allotted seats in the participating institutes of KCET. There will be around 220 government colleges/private aided/private un-aided/institutes of Karnataka in KCET 2020 participating institutes.

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is the test conducted for admissions in colleges of Karnataka state.
