KCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who want to appear for KCET exam 2021 should know about the basic KCET eligibility criteria before applying. Given below are the eligibility norms to be compiled by candidates applying for Karnataka CET 2021:
- Nationality - Candidates applying for Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2021 should be an Indian citizen.
- Qualifying Examination - Candidate should have passed second PUC/ 10+2 or equivalent examination having Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Electronics/ Computer with a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% marks for reserved categories).
- Mandatory Language - It is mandatory to have English as a language in the qualifying examination.
- State Education - Candidate should have studied at least for 7 years from a government or government recognized institute starting from class 1 to qualifying examination.
Karnataka Examinations Authority is expected to release the KCET application form tentatively in March 2021. Karnataka CET 2021 will be released online on the official website. Candidates will be required to fill and submit the same before the first week of March 2021. Eligible candidates will be required to provide various personal and academic details and upload the requisite documents while filling the KCET 2021 application form. They will also have to pay the Karnataka CET 2021 application fee in online mode as shown in the table below:

The authorities are expected to provide the facility of KCET 2021 application form correction in online mode. To make any changes during this period, candidates will have to login using their user ID and password. Registered candidates who made any mistake while filling the Karnataka CET 2021 application form will get an opportunity to make corrections in the same through online mode. The authorities will provide a provision to make changes in particular sections and this may or may not include the preference in KCET exam cities.
The authorities shall release the prospective cities where the KCET exam 2021 will be conducted along with the official brochure for the session. While filling the KCET exam form, candidates will be required to opt for the cities where they would like to appear for exam in the order of preference. The authorities shall allot the exact KCET exam centres based on the number of candidates and availability of seats which shall be reflected through Karnataka CET 2021 admit card.
The authorities are expected to release the KCET admit card in June tentatively. The same will be released for registered candidates in online mode through login accessible by candidates by entering the login credentials. The KCET exam admit card shall contain various details like the date and time of the entrance examination along with the complete address of the exam centre. Candidates will have to download and get a print out of the same which has to be carried on the day of KCET exam 2021 for the purpose of verification.

The authorities shall release the detailed syllabus of KCET exam containing all the topics out of which questions will be framed for the entrance. However, the KCET syllabus prescribed by the authorities is that of the Pre-University Education Department of Karnataka. KCET exam syllabus is also divided into the three sections of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. It is crucial for future aspirants to have a grip over the syllabus so that they have a direction for preparation.
Candidates who wish to appear for KCET 2021 should practice as many question papers as possible for a better understanding of the topics. KCET sample papers and previous year question papers also help candidates know as to what kind of questions can be expected in the final examination. The sample papers will comply with the exam pattern as well and will be divided into two papers with paper 1 for Mathematics and paper 2 for Physics and Chemistry respectively.
The authorities shall release the provisional answer key of KCET 2021 a few days after the exam is conducted. This KCET answer key contains the answers to the question paper of KCET and the same will be subject to challenge by the candidates who are not satisfied with the response reflected in it. Candidates will be able to raise challenges against the KCET 2021 answer key within a specified period of time. The authorities will finally announce the KCET result considering the candidate challenges and this will be followed by release of the final answer key.
The authorities are expected to announce the KCET result 2021 a few days after the exam is conducted. Candidates will be able to access their result online through the official website by logging in using their registration number and password. The result shall contain the subject wise as well as the total score obtained by candidates in Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2021. The marks obtained in the exam will be the basis for further admissions.
The authorities shall release cutoff marks for KCET 2021 after each round of counselling. The same will be released in the form of a pdf and the cutoff marks have to be complied with by candidates for admission through KCET. Candidates who have a score above the cutoff marks will be eligible to participate in the counselling process. The authorities will conduct the counselling process for KCET 2021 in online mode. The authorities require candidates to register online through the official website and save their choice of colleges and courses for participating in KCET counselling. Only those candidates who crack the KCET 2021 and comply with the cutoff marks announced by the authorities will be eligible for participating in the counselling. The process shall include verification of documents by the authorities followed by allotment of seats accordingly.
The authorities shall announce the mock seat allotment after the Karnataka Common Entrance Test result after which, candidates will be allowed to change the preference of colleges and institutes saved by candidates. This will be followed by two rounds of KCET seat allotment along with a second extended and special round. See, as per the eligibility criteria for KCET theagelimit of candidate should be 17 years as on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

Yes you are eligible for kcet examination. The eligibility criteria of the examination says that:
- You must have passed class 12th or must be appearing for the same.
- You must have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in their class 12 along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Electronics/ Computer Science as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study
- You must have obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination (40% in case of SC, ST, Category-I and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) category candidates)
