JoSAA 2024: Joint Seat Allocation Authority has announced the JoSAA 2024 seat allotment result for round 5 on July 17, 2024. The authority has updated the link to check the seat allotment for JoSAA 2024 on the website, josaa.nic.in. Candidates allotted seats in this round must complete online reporting and fee payment by July 22. Moreover, candidates can respond to any queries by July 23, 2024. The authority will soon release the JoSAA cutoff 2024 for round 5 online. The authority conducted five rounds of JoSAA 2024 counselling for admission into NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and IITs.

Candidates with valid JEE Main or JEE Advanced ranks can participate in the JoSAA counselling 2024. JoSAA 2024 registration and choice filling was held from June 10 to 18, 2024. The registration link for JoSAA 2024 is activated on the official website. The authority announced the JoSAA mock seat allocation online. JoSSA 2024 Counselling: What's New?

  • This year, JoSAA 2024 counselling will consist of 5 rounds only.
  • Two new institutes have been added to the list of JoSAA participating institutes.
  • The new institutes are
    • Central University of Jharkhand
    • Gati shakti Vishwa vidhyalaya, Vadodara.
  • IIIT Bhubaneshwar now reserves 50% of the total seats for Odisha State Category (“S”) candidates. Registration will be done through IIIT Bhubaneswhar's official website.
  • The remaining 50% of seats fall under the Open to All (“OTA”) category. The admission for the OTA category is also through JoSAA/CSAB 2024.
  • The Seat acceptance fee for JoSAA can be pre-paid through the payment link. The link will be active from June 14 to July 22.
  • Candidates can also directly pay the seat acceptance fee through the official website, without having to enter their login credentials.

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2024

There are no specific eligibility criteria for JoSAA 2024. Candidates are required to qualify the JEE Main 2024 or JEE Advanced 2024 to participate in JoSAA counselling. Additionally, the criteria of the participating institutes also have to be met by the candidates. If the required criteria are not fulfilled, the candidate will not be allotted the seat to the institute offering B.Tech admission.

The authorities concluded the registration & choice-filling process of JoSAA 2024. All the eligible candidates must register before the final date to participate in JoSAA 2024. Step 1: Registration - In the first step, the candidates must complete the JoSAA 2024 registration process. Candidates can follow the given steps to register for JoSAA 2024.

  • Go to the official website of JoSAA 2024.

  • Click on the registration link.

  • Enter the JEE Main 2024 roll number and password to register.

  • JEE Advanced 2024 qualified candidates can use their corresponding password to log in.

  • Enter basic details such as the candidate’s nationality, state code of eligibility, gender, and more.

Step 2: JoSAA Choice Filling - After the JoSAA registration process is complete, candidates will have to fill in their choice of courses and colleges from the available list. The courses and colleges for which the candidates are eligible according to their qualifications (JEE Main or JEE Advanced) will be listed online. The selection of courses and colleges has to be done in the order of preference.

Step 3: Choice Locking - Finally, the candidates have to lock their selected choices. It has to be noted that no changes will be accepted once the choices are locked by the candidates. A printout of the locked choices has to be taken for future reference.

JoSAA Rank List 2024

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the rank list of JoSAA 2024 after the JEE Main and JEE Advanced results are announced. A separate rank list will be released for different categories. JoSAA counselling opening and closing rank lists will be prepared based on marks secured in JEE Main 2024 or JEE Advanced 2024.

JoSAA Mock Allotment 2024

The exam authority released the JoSAA 2024 mock allotment to help candidates know their admission chances into their preferred colleges. If the colleges and courses allotted during mock allotment are not satisfactory, then the candidates can accordingly modify their order preference. Since the JoSAA allotment is not final, the candidates are given enough time to make the necessary changes in the order of preference.

JoSAA Counselling 2024

Eligible candidates have to participate in the counselling of JoSAA 2024 to get admission into the participating institutes. The JoSAA 2024 counselling process consists of registration, choice filling, mock allotment, final allotment, etc. The authorities will conduct five rounds of JoSAA counselling 2024 to provide admissions to all eligible candidates. After the JoSAA mock allotment is announced, the candidates can modify their previously selected preferences. What after JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024?

Candidates are allotted seats based on their JEE Main/JEE Advanced merit, preferences, category and availability of seats. The allotted candidates must download their provisional allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 35,000. After the fee is paid, the candidates must verify their documents at the Reporting Centre (RC).

The allotted candidates will be able to select any of the following options according to their preference after the JoSAA seat allotment results 2024 are announced by the authorities:

  • Floating: If the candidates wish to accept the allotted seat but are also open to upgradation and admission to higher preferred institutes or courses, then they will have to select this option.

  • Freezing: Candidates have to select this option if they are satisfied with their allotted seat and do not wish to participate in further rounds of counselling.

  • Sliding: The candidates who choose this option will confirm their allotment but will also be open for admission into a higher preferred course in the same institute.

After the document verification is completed, the candidates must report to their respective allotted institutes to confirm their admission. The required fee also has to be paid by the candidates.

JoSAA Cutoff 2024

The opening and closing ranks at which candidates will get admission to the participating institutes (IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc.) form the JoSAA 2024 cutoff. The authorities have released the JoSAA 2024 cutoff after rounds 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the official website.

JoSAA Reporting Centres 2024

After the allotment process is over, candidates will have to verify their documents at the reporting centres of JoSAA 2024. The authorities will release the list of reporting centres on the official website. Candidates can check the important points related to JoSAA reporting centres here-

  • Candidates will be required to physically report for verification of documents at the JoSAA reporting centres 2024.

  • Candidates must carry the original and photocopies of all the required documents for verification.

  • Different reporting centres will be available for NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs.

  • Candidates must report to the reporting centres according to their allotted institutes. There will be separate institutes for the NIT+ system (NITs, IIITs and GFTIs) and IITs.

  • After the verification process is completed, candidates must complete their admission procedure by reporting at their allotted institute.

  • In case of a change in the seat allotment of a candidate from the NIT+ system to IITs or the other way around, then the candidate will have to report to the changed institute. Failing to report will result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.
