JoSAA Counselling 2024 - Joint Seat Allocation Authority has released the JoSAA 2024 final round seat allotment today, July 17, 2024. Candidates can check the final round seat allotment for JoSAA 2024 on the official website josaa.nic.in. Candidates allotted seats in this round need to upload documents and pay the fee by July 22, 2024. The authority declared round 4 JoSAA seat allotment result on July 10. Candidates allotted seats in this round had to upload documents and pay the fee by July 15, 2024. The JoSAA counselling process is being conducted in five rounds. The counselling is based on the candidate's ranks in JEE Main and JEE Advanced, the preferences selected by them and the availability of seats. JoSAA counselling is conducted for admission to B.Tech courses in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority announced the JoSAA seat allotment for rounds 1, 2, 3 & 4 on June 20, 27, July 4 & 15, 2024. The authority conducted the JoSAA counselling registration from June 10 to 18, 2024. The link for the JoSAA 2024 counselling registration was available on the official website. Candidates who have valid JEE Main and JEE Advanced rank were able to register for the JoSAA counselling 2024. The JoSAA 2024 official notification has been released. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority conducts JoSAA counselling to allot seats in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The Joint Admission Board (JAB) formulates the policies for seat allocation in IITs while the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. JoSAA is the counselling authority that consists of representatives from JAB and CSAB and conducts the counselling for admission.
Students who qualify for JEE Main 2024 and/or JEE Advanced 2024 will be eligible to participate in JoSAA counselling. Candidates will have to register and fill in their choices online to participate in the counselling. The detailed procedure for JoSAA counselling 2024 is described below

Step 1- Registration for the JoSAA counselling: Students will be required to register online to participate in the JoSAA 2024 counselling. The registration process includes filling out the online registration form by providing the JEE Main 2024 registration number and password. Students can also modify their password and contact details at this stage.
Step 2- JoSAA Choice Filling and Locking of Choices: After completing the registration, students will have to log in and fill in their choices of colleges in order of their preferences. Filling of choices has to be done within the stipulated time interval to be considered for JoSAA counselling 2024. Students will be provided a time period of ten days to fill in and lock their choices.
Step 3- Mock Seat Allotment: The mock seat allotment is conducted to help students understand what colleges they might get into based on their choices. Students will also be able to modify their filled choices based on JoSAA mock seat allotment. Students must note that they will not be allowed to modify the choices after locking of choices and after completion of the last date of choice filling and locking.
Step 4- JoSAA Seat Allotment Result: The authority declared the JoSAA seat allotment result for round 1 on June 20, 2024, on the official website. Students will have to log in using their application number and password to check the seat allotment status of JoSAA counselling 2024. Students will have the option of either accepting the allotted seats or not willing to participate in the next round or accepting with willing to participate in the next round of counselling.
Step 5- Payment of Seat Acceptance Fees and Download of Provisional Seat Allotment Letter: Students who will be allotted a seat will have to download their seat allotment letter. Candidates will be required to log in using their application number and password to download their seat allotment letter. After downloading the allotment letter of JoSAA 2024 counselling, students will have to pay Rs.35,000 as seat acceptance fees ( Rs15,000 for reserved category). JoSAA counselling fees can be paid in online mode or through e-challan.
Step 6- Reporting to the Reporting Centres: Candidates will have to visit the reporting centres for document verification. Candidates will have to carry all their original documents along with two sets of xerox copies. The officials in these reporting centres will verify the original documents and will submit the xerox copies. Students will be issued the acknowledgement letter post-document verification. Candidates must note that it is compulsory to report at the reporting centres for document verification within the dates specified in the allotment letter failing which the admission will be cancelled. Step 7- Confirmation of Admission: Students will finally have to report to the allotted institute for the confirmation of admission. The last date for reporting to the allotted institute will be mentioned in the seat allotment letter. Students will have to report to the allotted institute within the specified dates, failing which their admission will be cancelled.
All JEE Main/JEE Advanced qualified candidates will be eligible for JoSAA 2024 counselling, provided they meet the respective cutoffs and register for JoSAA counselling.
