The Numerical Section had lengthy calculations from chapters of Calculus & Algebra. A few questions were reported as Lengthy & Tricky.

Physics – Easy to Moderate . Questions were asked from Kinematics, SHM, Work, Power & Energy, Gravitation, Laws of Motion, Rotational Motion, EM Waves, Magnetism, Wave Optics, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic Induction, AC Circuits, Modern Physics, , Atoms & Nuclei. In terms of order of Difficulty –Mathematics was Moderate while Chemistry were Easy . Overall, this paper was of Moderate Level as per students.

JEE Main 2024 April 8 Shift 1 Analysis: Maths was rated as easy to moderate, while Physics and Chemistry were considered easy.

Few MCQs & numerical based questions had lengthy calculations and were Tricky.

Some good questions from chapters of Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Gravitation, SHM & waves, Heat & Thermodynamics, Rotational Motion, Wave Optics, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic Induction, Modern Physics, Atoms & Nuclei. In terms of order of Difficulty – Overall, this paper was of Moderately Tough level as per students in all three subjects. Level was better than January Session as per students.

Other chapters included Permutation & Combination, Complex Numbers, Statistics, Progressions, Quadratic Equations, Function, Limits, Continuity & Differentiability, Application of Derivative, Indefinite Integration clubbed with trigonometry, Definite Integrals, Differential Equations, Area, Straight Line, Circle , Conic Sections with mixed concept questions. The Numerical Section had lengthy calculations from chapters of Calculus & Coordinate Geometry. A few questions were reported as Lengthy &Tricky.

Physics - Candidates find the Physics section to be moderately tough, with a significant emphasis on Electrostatics. The covered chapters included Kinematics, Gravitation, Rotational Motion, SHM, Laws of Motion, Magnetism, Ray Optics, Capacitance, Current Electricity, Modern Physics, Fluids, including an assertion-reasoning question, and Heat & Thermodynamics. Numerical-based questions were both challenging and lengthy. Additionally, there were a few fact-based questions from class XII chapters of NCERT, leading students to perceive a higher weightage for these chapters.

Chemistry - The difficulty level of the Chemistry paper was easy, with a significant emphasis on Organic and Inorganic Chemistry compared to Physical Chemistry. JEE Main 2024 January 27 Analysis by FIITJEE (Shift 1)

Numerical-based questions were easy. A few fact-based questions from class XII chapters of NCERT were also asked. Students felt more weightage given to XII Class chapters.

Chemistry – Easy to Moderate. Organic Chemistry was given more weightage compared to Physical & Inorganic Chemistry. Questions asked from Coordination Compounds, Atomic Structure, Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, General Organic Chemistry, Biomolecules, Amines, Electrochemistry, Mole Concept, Phenols, Aryl & Alkyl halides.

In terms of order of Difficulty – Mathematics was Moderate while Physics was Easy Overall, this paper was of Moderate level as per students.

Analysis of B. Arch Paper(2A):
The level of difficulty of JEE Main Paper-2 (B. Arch) was Easy to Moderate as per feedback from students.

Mathematics – Easy to Moderate level. Few Students reported that the numerical-based section had few lengthy questions involving calculations. Questions were asked from almost all chapters like Quadratic Equations, Progression & Series, Inverse Trigonometric Equations, Binomial Theorem, Complex Numbers, Probability, Permutation & Combination, Matrices, Determinants, 3D Geometry, Vectors, Limits & Continuity, Definite Integrals, Differential Equations. Less weightage was given to Co-ordinate Geometry with questions asked from Straight Lines. Few questions in MCQs were reported Lengthy but Easy.

Aptitude – Easy to Moderate level. Questions were mostly based on 3- Dimensional Figures, Questions were asked from architecture aptitude, and monumental details, with some Logic based questions. This section was also reported Easy to Moderate.

Drawing– Easy level. One question involved Copying a picture from screen as per own perception in Black & White. The second question involved two options out of which one was to be attempted. : 1. View of a Football Stadium as a spectator 2. Abstract Art using a musical instrument in 3D and naming the texture and shadow effect.

Analysis of B. Planning Paper (2B):

The level of difficulty of JEE Main Paper-2 (B. Planning) was Easy to Moderate as per feedback from students.

Mathematics – Same as mentioned in B. Arch paper.

Aptitude – Same as mentioned in B. Arch paper.

Planning – Easy level. A few Questions were asked from the National Commission, Town Planning, Planning questions, and General Knowledge questions asking names of Architects of some important Monuments.

In terms of order of difficulty level Mathematics was Moderately Tough Level while Physics was Easy amongst the three subjects. Overall, this paper was of Moderate level as per students.

JEE Main 2021 paper analysis by FIITJEE - July 22 shift 2

Mathematics – Moderately to Difficult Level. Weightage was given to chapters of Coordinate Geometry, Calculus, 3D & Vector Algebra. There were questions from Binomial Theorem, Probability & Matrices in Numerical based section. Questions were of moderate level and lengthy.

Physics – Easy to Moderate level. Questions asked from Gravitation, Current Electricity, Modern Physics, Heat and Thermodynamics. Numerical-based questions had lengthy calculations but were easy. Questions covered all chapters of XI & XII classes. It was a balanced section.

Chemistry - Easy level. Organic Chemistry & Inorganic Chemistry had some tricky questions. Physical Chemistry was only in Integer Type. Overall this section was easy.

JEE Main 2021 paper analysis by FIITJEE - July 20 shift 1

Overall difficulty level of the JEE Main 2021 shift 1 of July 20 was moderate. In terms of order of Difficulty – Maths & Chemistry were of Moderate level while Physics was easiest amongst the three subjects.

Mathematics - Moderate level. Questions were asked from chapters majorly from Calculus, Co-ordinate Geometry, Algebra. More weightage was given to chapters of Matrices & Determinants, Progressions, Binomial and Calculus. Few Numerical Based questions required lengthy calculations.

Physics – Easy to Moderate level. Questions asked from Kinematics, Gravitation, Optics, Electrostatics, Magnetism, Current Electricity, EM waves, Heat and Thermodynamics. Chemistry - Moderate level. Questions covered chapters like Ores & Metallurgy, Co-ordination compounds, Chemistry in Everyday life. More weightage was given to chapters of Organic & Inorganic Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry had mostly questions from NCERT.

JEE Main March 2021 paper analysis by FIITJEE - March 18 shift 1

  • Questions covered almost all chapters of Class 11 and 12. Balanced Paper as per students in terms of coverage of chapters. It was tougher as compared to papers held in February.
  • In terms of the order of difficulty – Mathematics was moderate to tough level while Physics was easiest among the three subjects. Overall, this paper was of moderate level as per students.
  • Mathematics – Moderate to tough level. Questions were asked from chapters majorly from Calculus & Algebra. Weightage was given to Chapter like Vectors, Matrices, Probability, 3 D Geometry, Complex numbers in Algebra. No questions were asked on Mathematical Reasoning.

JEE Main Analysis by FIITJEE - March 17 Shift 1

There were total of 90* questions and the total marks of JEE Main Paper-1 were 300. (* 5 out of 10 questions were to be attempted from the Numerical Based section in each subject).

The paper had three parts & each part had two sections-

  • Part-I- Physics had a total of 30*questions – Sec-I had 20 Multiple choice questions with Single correct answers & Sec-II had 10 Numerical based questions out of which only 5 had to be attempted. The marking scheme for multiple-choice questions was +4 for a correct response, -1 for an incorrect response, 0 if not attempted. The marking scheme for numerical-based questions was +4 for correct response and 0 in all other cases. The total marks of this section were 100.

  • Part-II- Chemistry had a total of 30*questions – Sec-I had 20 Multiple choice questions with Single correct answers & Sec-II had 10 Numerical based questions out of which only 5 had to be attempted. Section-wise Analysis of JEE Main March 17 Shift 1 Exam

The level of difficultly as per feedback from students on 17th March 2021 (Forenoon Session).

  • Mathematics – Moderate to Tough level. Not a balanced section as there were multiple questions from Chapters like Differential Equations, Conic Sections, Vectors & 3D Geometry. Few Numerical Based questions were tricky and required lengthy calculations.

  • Physics – Easy to Moderate level. Questions asked from all Chapters with easy questions from chapters like Semi-Conductors, Current Electricity, Communication Devices & AC Circuits. Few Numerical based questions had lengthy calculations but were easy. Theory-Based questions from class XII chapters of NCERT were also asked.

  • Chemistry - Easy level. A Balanced section with equal weightage given to chapters of Physical, Inorganic & Organic Chemistry. Covered almost all chapters of NCERT.

In terms of the order of Difficulty – Mathematics was Moderately Tough level while Chemistry was easiest amongst the three subjects. Overall, this paper was of Moderate level as per students.

JEE Main Analysis by FIITJEE - March 16 Shift 1

As per the JEE Main 2021 analysis. the chemistry section was easy to moderate while mathematics section was quite tough.

  • Mathematics: The questions asked in JEE Main 2021 March 16 mathematics sections were from Algebra like Binomial Theorem, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Matrices and Determinants. Very few questions were asked from Trigonometry, Vector and 3DGeometry.
  • Chemistry: the chemistry section was quite easy as per the previous shifts in February session. The questions asked asked in JEE Main 2021 March 16 Chemistry section were from NCERT.
  • Physics: JEE Main Physics section was easy to moderate. The questions were asked from Kinematics, Optics, Electrostatics, Magnetism, Current Electricity, EM waves, Heat and Thermodynamics. 5 to 6 questions from Semi-Conductors, EM Waves and Communication Devices.

The difficulty level of JEE Main Feb 24 shift 1 Physics section was easy.   • Physics – Easy to Moderate level. Students reported Numerical Based questions as lengthy. Questions were of mixed concept type. In Physics, Numerical Based were easier compared to MCQ based questions.
  • Chemistry – Easy. Some questions were directly NCERT based specially chapters in inorganic Chemistry. Students felt Class XI topics had more weightage. More fact-based questions so there were less calculation-based questions. Less questions from Organic chemistry.

Overall, the JEE Main (Paper-1) was easier compared to January session as per students.

JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 Analysis by FIITJEE- September 1 (Shift 1)

Immediate Reactions from Students about Paper 2 (Morning Session on 1 st September 2020) of JEE Main

  • In Paper -2 (B.Arch Paper) of JEE (Main) was different from Paper-2 of B. Planning.
  • The full marks of the JEE Main Paper-2 was 400.
  • The level of difficultly was easy as compared to Jan session of JEE Main Paper-2 as per feedback from students

Analysis of JEE Main 2020 B. Arch Paper- September 1 (Shift 1)

Part-I- Mathematics had total 25 questions – Sec-I had 20 Multiple choice questions with Single correct answers & Sec-II had 5 Numerical based questions. Marking scheme for multiple choice questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response, 0 if not attempted. Marking scheme for numerical based questions was +4 for correct response and 0 in all other cases. Total marks of this section was 100.

Difficulty level of the Mathematics section- Easy to Moderate level. Students reported that Numerical based question were lengthy compared to Jan session of the same paper as questions involved calculations. All chapters covered in calculus and coordinate geometry.

Part-II- Aptitude Section had total 50 questions – There were 50 Multiple choice questions with Single correct answers. Marking scheme for multiple choice questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response, 0 if not attempted. Total marks of this section was 200.

Difficulty level of the Aptitude Section- Easy level.

Part-III- Drawing Section had 2 questions each of 50 marks. Total marks of this section was 100.

Difficulty level of the Drawing section– Easy level. One question involved drawing an aesthetic composition using rectangles and the other was any one of Highway scene or Portrait of your favorite Teacher.

Overall, the paper-2 was of Easy level as per students compared to JEE Main 2020 January session. Students were given enough plain papers for rough work.

Special Observation of students: As compared to Jan session were biometric attendance was taken. This time there was no biometric attendance at Entry, instead a team of four invigilators came to each student during the exam carrying an orange Tab. Took photo of student/ scanned the Hall Ticket from a distance. The seating of B. Arch & B. Planning were in separate buildings.

Students were made to sit on the ODD numbered seats in this session and were asked not to touch the even numbered seats. There was tight invigilation as per students. No errors were reported in the question papers. The students were made to leave in lots after 12:00 noon. Proper social distancing was followed at the exam centre.

JEE Main 2019 April Analysis by FIITJEE

Overall, the paper was easy to moderate as per the students. Compared to the January session, the difficulty level was almost similar. Physics was relatively tougher. The spread of questions was from almost all chapters from class XI & XII. The level of difficult as per feedback from students:

  • Mathematics – Easy to Moderate level. The students reported questions were easy. No question asked from Mathematical Induction.
  • Physics – Tougher compared to Mathematics & Chemistry. But it was of moderate level. Some students felt Class XI had more weightage in the paper.

Overall the paper was of easy to moderate level as per students. No errors were reported from students as such. The exam had equal weightage given to chapters from 11th and 12th standard.

According to the analysis, Mathematics was of moderate level, Physics was relatively tough as compared to Chemistry and the Chemistry section was overall easy. No technical errors were reported.

  • Overall the exam was easy to moderate level as per the students
  • Chemistry section had some questions directly from NCERT
  • Mathematics - All chapters of conic sections were covered.
  • All chapters in the three sections were given equal weightage.
  • 30 questions were asked from each section.

JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 Analysis by FIITJEE (Forenoon)

Overall the difficulty level of the examination was easy to moderate as compared to the previous year papers. There were no reported errors in the examination. The paper had three sections:

  • Mathematics section - 30 Questions (+4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response and 0 if not attempted)

  • Aptitude section - 50 Questions (+4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response and 0 if not attempted). In this section, there were questions on identifying the top view, front view of 3-dimensional objects/shapes, identifying mirror images. There were 10 to 15 questions on general knowledge like the full form of NASA/ISRO and also the location of places with architectural importance.

  • Drawing section - 3 Questions (First question was of 30 marks and the remaining two was of 20 marks). In the drawing section, the first question had three parts and the students had to attempt anyone out of the below options:

    • The first question was to design the curtain of the small girl's room.
    • The second question was to sketch their favourite film actor.
    • The third question was to sketch the scene of people sitting around a bonfire.

Level of Difficulty

  • Mathematics section - Easy to moderate level, students reported that few questions repeated from previous year question papers.
  • Aptitude section - Easy
  • Drawing section - Easy to a moderate level as per the creativity of the student

The overall difficulty level of JEE Main was less than the previous year.

  • Mathematics - As per FIITJEE experts, Mathematics was of moderate difficulty as of questions were from Calculus and Algebra. 15 questions were asked from 11th standard syllabus and 15 questions were from class 12.
  • Chemistry - This section was comparatively easier than the other two. In this section most of the questions were asked from Physical Chemistry. 17 questions were asked from class 11 syllabus and 13 questions were from 12 class.
  • Physics - This section was moderate in difficulty level. 13 questions in this section were from the 11th standard syllabus and 17 questions were from 12. Majority of the questions were from Mechanics.
