JEE Main Application Form Correction 2019 - NTA has closed the one-time facility to make corrections in JEE Main 2019 application form (April session) on March 15. Using the application form correction facility of JEE Main, candidates could correct a host of details in the application form, except for the change in exam cities. If applicable, candidates have to make additional fee payment during application correction dates. The payment can be done till March 16, 2019 (11:50 PM). It may be noted that the JEE Main application form correction facility was open to only those candidates who had paid the application fee and completed the application form in all respects. To make the corrections, the candidate had to go to the JEE Main application correction portal and log in using details like JEE Main 2019 application number and password. National Testing Agency (NTA) had released the application form of JEE Main 2019 for April session on February 8. Candidates could fill and submit the application form till March 7.

How to make corrections in JEE Main application form 2019?

Incorrect and incomplete application forms stand to be rejected, so it was recommended that candidates use the JEE Main 2019 application form correction facility to ensure all the information is correct. If there was any discrepancy, it needed to be corrected within the correction window prescribed by NTA. 

To make corrections to the JEE Main application form 2019 for January session:

  • Go to the JEE Main 2019 application correction portal and log in using the following details:

    • JEE Main Application Number
    • Password
    • Security code displayed on the screen
  • Click on the section you want to edit and make the corrections

  • After making the changes, finally, click on “Submit”

 Important: Change of Exam City was not allowed. Only one parameter could be changed from Candidate Name, Mother Name ,Father Name.

What details can be corrected using JEE Main 2019 Application Form Correction facility?

  • Change of Paper: The candidate could change the choice of paper from Paper I to Paper II (and vice versa) in JEE Main 2019 exam, or opt for both papers. In case students changed it to both papers, they were required to pay the balance fee. 

  • Personal Details: If there was a spelling mistake etc, the details could be changed.

  • Educational Details: All information related to the candidate's academics could also be changed
  • Medium of examination: Candidates, if they wished, could change the medium of examination from English to Hindi/Gujarati.

  • Name, State of Eligibility, and Date of Birth: These particulars that the candidate entered at the time of JEE Main 2019 registration could also be changed. 
  • Category: Candidates could change their category also. In case of change from general to reserved, no refund of fees was given while a change from reserved to general would require students to pay the balance fee as applicable.

Who are eligible to avail JEE Main application form correction facility?

To be able to make corrections to the JEE Main 2019 application form, it was mandatory that the candidate had paid the applicable application fee and also completed all the steps of the JEE Main online application form

 For which corrections of the JEE Main 2019 application form should a candidate pay additional charges?

Additional fees had to be paid by applicants if they were correcting the following details

  1. Change of category from SC/ST/Girls/PwD to General/OBC NCL
  2. Opting for both the papers - Paper 1 & Paper 2

Refund of money 

  • If a candidate earlier opted for both Paper I and Paper II, but now wanted to appear in any one paper only, the candidate were not refunded any money.
  • This is also true for cases when candidates opt for reserved category during correction when they have filled general or OBC NCL earlier.

JEE Main Correction FAQs 2019 

What is the amount that has to be paid as additional fees? 

Actually, candidates have to pay the balance fee after deducting the fees paid from the fees to be paid. The reason is the application fee for reserved category is less. In such a case where candidates need to correct their category from reserved to general, they will be required to pay the balance fee. Similarly in case of opting to write both  Paper 1 and Paper 1 when they have actually filled for only one paper.  

The candidate may use the table below, which lists the JEE Main application fee for different category of candidates, for calculating the difference. As can be seen from the table below, female candidates, in general, have to pay a lower fee than male candidates.

Ans: Yes, the candidate can make corrections to the name as well. In fact, all particulars in the JEE Main 2019 application form can be corrected except for change in exam cities.
