JEE Main Previous Year Analysis and Cutoff by Career Launcher
The cutoff and analysis of previous year JEE Main exam have been given for reference of students. It will help students in understanding the pattern of questions and the difficulty level which were asked in previous year exams.
JEE Main 2018 Subject-wise difficulty analysis by Career Launcher
JEE Main 2018 Physics Analysis : Question in Physics were relatively difficult in comparison to last year exam. Weightage was given to current electricity and electrostatistics along with mechanics. Question were mostly calculative in nature requiring lengthy calculations and approximations. If we look at the particular topic, modern physics and waves intrigued most with highest number of questions totaling to 9. Questions in units like errors and approximations and mechanics went little tougher with calculative questions unlike theoretical questions which were generally asked from these units.
JEE Main 2018 Chemistry Analysis : The JEE Main Chemistry question paper was a bit difficult in comparison to last year. There were total of 14 questions from class 11th and 16 questions from 12th. Questions were mostly theoretical in nature but demanded a deeper analysis. Questions from topics like solutions and chemical kinetics were tricky and analytical in nature with lengthy calculations. Questions from topic like elemental chemistry were higher in number and minimum number of questions asked were from stoichiometry and atomic structure.
JEE Main 2018 Mathematics Analysis : Question paper of JEE Main 2018 Mathematics was largely analytical in nature with hefty calculations and presumptions. Questions were mostly designed in such that only one concept and topic has to applied for solution. Equal weightage was given to questions from both the class with 15 questions each from class 11th and 12th. Most questions were asked from calculus and conics while topic like statics and dynamics did not found any place in this year question paper.
