JEE Main 2017 aspirants will necessarily need an AADHAAR number to fill application form for the prestigious engineering entrance exam. According to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officials, all the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. The new eligibility criteria introduced by the exam conducting authority means that an aspirant will not be able to submit online applications unless it carries his/her AADHAAR number. In case, an aspirant does not hold an AADHAR number, he/she will have to apply for it first and then apply for JEE Main 2017.
JEE Main 2017 is the gateway for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Government funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs), besides being the first stage test for entry to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
“At the time of filling application form of JEE Main 2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data,” CBSE officials said.

This means that aspirants will not be able to submit the online application form of JEE Main 2017 unless it carries their AADHAAR number. In case, an aspirant does not hold an AADHAR number, he/she will have to get one and then apply for JEE Main 2017.
Also, in case your AADHAAR card number carries any wrong information, aspirants will need to get that corrected by officials concerned before applying for JEE Main 2017. CBSE officials said that the application may face rejection if the details in the application form and those fetched from their AADHAAR card do not match. “In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE Main 2017.
Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records,” officials said, adding, “If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be.”
The online application process for JEE Main 2017 application will begin from December, 1, 2016 onwards, while the last date for application submission is January 2, 2017 and the fee can be paid upto January 3, 2017.
