I got 88.2032067 percentile in jee main Jan 2020 attempt. Do I qualify for jee advanced with these percentile.? If yes, What rank I should secure in Jee Advanced to get Artificial Intelligence branch at IIT Hyderabad? My category is ST

ayush mishra 27th Jan, 2020
Hey aspirant!
As of now, it is difficult to predict the actual qualifying NTA score for JEE Advanced eligibility. However, going by views of many experts, if you have a percentile above 85-86 then you have a decent enough chance to qualify irrespective of your category. However, you should refer to the previous year JEE Main qualifying cutoff scores by NTA as follows to understand your chances:-
Common Rank List (CRL)

Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL)

Scheduled Caste (SC)

Scheduled Tribe (ST)

Therefore, looking at previous year's trends it is a big possibility that you would qualify for JEE Advanced. Also, you still have another opportunity to improve your results by performing better in the April attempt and I would advise you to be concentrated on that too and give it your best shot.

As regarding your query about Artificial Intelligence at IIT HYDERABAD, it is a relatively new course and so prediction for cutoff is really tough, however an AIR of 600-700 would be sufficient to qualify for it, however, an AIR of under 500 would probably seal you the seat. Also, note that the previous year opening and closing rank for the course was 657 and 1601 respectively for General category while the opening rank for ST students from ST rank list was 142.
Good luck.

got 96% in jee mains 2020 wht will be my obc rank

Aman Raj Student Expert 27th Jan, 2020

Hello Sairaj

If you consider last year figures and cutoffs then your rank will be around 25k-30k(OBC rank).

"864469 are the number of candidates appeared for the January exam. So rank formula is (100- your total score) * 864469 / 100."

can I get IIIT bhubneshwar with home state in 82 percentile in jee mains?

Manisha Gupta Expert 27th Jan, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

It's difficult to tell you the exact about the admission possibilities. But as per the previous year cutoff the chances are less to get a seat in IIIT Bhubneshwar or any other IIITs, NITs as General category for programme.

How ever you can go for the state level counselling like Punjab, Haryana, MP Etc.

To know your admission possibilities in state level counselling you can use JEE Main college predictor tool given below.
