It doesn't depend on the number of chances that you can give JEE Advanced and JEE Mains. It depends when you have passed Class 12 examination . You can usually give JEE Mains and JEE Advanced a year later also. You can give maximum 4 attempts but you have only two year to give a maximum of 4 attempts .
Since jee advance has not any fixed marks, it varies every year so dont think about marks just focus on the topics,
And if we analys last year then to get your desired rank in St category you must score between 36-40 percent of the total marks
see jee advance is the entrance test of iits btech admission and one of the toughest exam, you need to have very clear understanding because you can not depends on suggestion or notes only to get common question. based on your jee main score cutoff, students will be eligible to give jee advanc exam, I suggest you to first solve the jee main questions, and your 12th exam syllabus, after that follow tata macgraw books for jee advance mcq solving.

If you've scored more than cut off in JEE main in your particular category then you can surely apply for JEE advanced because there's as such no limitations on applying for JEE advanced rather than clearing JEE main examination and scoring 75% atleast(for general) in class 12th.
The 75% criteria is essential for allotment of colleges through JEE examinations
Best of luck
