• A unique feature of the book is almost all topics included in JEE Advanced 2020 are more or less covered

• It, in particular, could help you brush up sections like Energetics, Solutions and Electrochemistry.

• The book deals with both numerical problems and theoretical concepts

• Contains sufficient solved material and practice questions

Note: If you are looking for an in-depth explanation you will be a little disappointed because many concepts are only briefly dealt with.

• Simple easy-to-follow language is used to explain complex reactions

• Also, complex equations are kept for the latter part of the book, so that the student is prepared by the time he/she attempts them

• Interdisciplinary knowledge building exercises are also included, example: drug chemistry and life sciences

• Instead of memorization, the book helps the student understand the inner dynamics and working principle of reactions

Note: There are some sections which are meant for PG students. So, candidates mustn’t invest their time in irrelevant details.

• The book has few irrelevant topics and is in tune with the JEE Advanced 2020 syllabus.

• It is meant to assist the student in three important pain areas: problem-solving, visualization of structures and understanding of mechanisms.

• At the end of every chapter, there are explanations to practice problems

• To make things easier, key concepts have also been provided in a tabular format

Note: While it could be described as a stand-alone book, candidates may try other books for certain topics like detection of functional groups.

• Apart from getting an idea about the questions asked in JEE Advanced, candidates will be learn tricks to solve questions asked in the exam through the book

• Apart from solved papers, the book also has study material

Note: This book shouldn’t be used as the source book to build concepts or even as the sole material to learn how to solve problems.

Fundamentals of Physics by David Halliday/Resnick/Walker

• The fundamental concepts of physics have been explained in great detail and in easy-to-grasp manner

• The book has a good mix of illustrations, mathematical derivations and example solutions

• The latest edition of the book contains over 1000 new problems. Many of these problems require the candidate to use logic in using formulas he/she has learn in the book. This encourages the candidate get into the thick of things than simply focusing on rote learning.

Note: There are some topics like sound waves and wave motion that candidates might want to consult other books as well

Note: The book includes topics that are not required for JEE Advanced. So, the candidate must skip those topics and focus on the relevant ones.

• Both differential calculus and integral calculus are addressed well in this well-reviewed book

• Every concept is properly explained

• Illustrations are used to assist learning

• Includes all types of questions asked in JEE Advanced.

• Also, questions are graded depending on their difficulty level. This can help the candidate get a clear picture regarding his/her prepartion.

Note: There are limited numbers of problems. So the candidate has to depend on other books for practice.

• This book is suitable for building both basic and advanced concepts of algebra

• Includes hundreds of solved and practice problems

• Solutions to problems are explained in a structured manner with suitable explanations

Note: One criticism against the book is it is more suited to the subjective exam pattern of qualifying exams than the objective-based JEE Advanced.

• The book is tailor-made for engineering entrance examinations, including JEE Advanced

The strengths and weaknesses of this book are almost identical to integral Calculus for IIT-JEE by Amit M Agarwal, who is also the writer of this book.

• The book covers all the topics included in JEE Advanced 2020

• It starts with the fundamentals of algebra and effortless moves into more complicated topics.

• Solved examples are included in each chapter for easy understanding

• Exercises are also available at the end of each chapter and include three types of questions: Previous year’s question papers have also been included in the book to help candidates get an idea about the pattern and difficulty level of the exam.
