Is it important to have maths to give iit jee exam ?

Rehan Alam Student Expert 19th Oct, 2019

Dear Aspirant,

Definitely. The whole requirement for IIT JEE is to have Physics chemistry and mathematics as your main subjects. Moreover, you'll be needing a minimum of 75% marks to get into IITs or have to be in the top 20 Percentile of your respective boards. For CBSE this requirement is 75%.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

sir i passed in class 10th in 2016 and class 12th in 2019 but i got 60 percentage in 12th so i decided to do direct 12th from nios board so now if i got more than 75 percentage in nios board in 2020 would i be eligible for jee advance or not

Aditya kumar Student Expert 16th Oct, 2019

Hello there!

Greetings !

First of all I want to make one thing clear that only scoring 75 percent in class 12th doesn't make anyone eligible for jee advance , in order to be eligible for jee advance,  you need to clear jee mains but yes since you have scored more than 75 % in nios boards so you will be eligible for nits , iits etc if you performed well in jee as nios board is a recognised board and it is accepted by nits , iits etc. So , prepare well for jee

thankyou

sir i dropped for the first time in 2018 to prepare for jee mains and jee advanced, but in 2019 when i was about to give these papers i sufferd from acute pancreatitis and thus i was not able to give paper.now i have decided to give mains in january 2020 .will this 2 year gap affect me in future

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 16th Oct, 2019

Dear Vishu, the year gap will not affect your future because you had medical issues. You can appear for JEE Mains 2020 and secure a seat and take admission. During placements, there will be questions asked and so keep all your Medical documents intact. It's not that they would want to check it but it is just for your justification. But for now, your focus should remain JEE Mains 2020 and you can cross that ship when time comes. During placements, what matters is your aggregate in your Bachelors and also your performance in the Interview.
