IIST B.Tech Seat Allotment 2017 - Candidates who have applied for admission to IIST will be considered for IIST B.Tech 2017 seat allotment based on their All-India Rank in JEE Advanced 2017. Based on the rank obtained by applicants in JEE Advanced 2017, an IIST admission rank list has been released and the candidates will be called for interview. Candidates need to get registered online on IIST admission portal and meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the admissions committee, or else they will not be included in the admission rank list and considered for admission. Separate IIST admission rank lists have been published for different categories and allotment of IIST B.Tech seats will be carried out accordingly. Candidates are required to be physically present at the counselling centre on the day of counselling accompanied by the necessary original documents and copies. Candidates missing the counselling or attending the counselling with incomplete documents would not be considered for admission. During the counselling process, candidates will be able to exercise choice filling. Those ranked higher in the rank list will be called first for choice filling, and will therefore have more options to choose from. IIST B.Tech Seat Allotment 2017: Important Points
As per IIST B.Tech 2017 seat allotment policy, only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria of IIST B.Tech and have registered online will be considered for admission
The candidate needs to have a valid JEE Advanced 2017 score
Based on the JEE Advanced scores of candidates received, the University has prepared an IIST Admission rank list.
Candidates will be called for counselling as per their rank in this list, with higher ranked candidates called first.
Higher ranked candidates will have maximum options during choice filling of seats
To participate in the counselling, candidates need to appear in person at the counselling centre and bring along all necessary documents and originals. If a candidate misses a document or is absent on counselling day, such candidates may not be considered for allotment of IIST seats 2017.
IIST B.Tech 2017 Seat Allotment: Category-wise IIST Admission Rank List
IIST has now released the category-wise rank lists of candidates for seat allotment to IIST B.Tech 2017 programme. Candidates from one merit list can't claim admission under another merit list. For example, qualified candidates in ST admission rank list cannot claim admission under general list and vice-versa.
Minimum JEE Advanced 2017 score to be eligible for IIST B.Tech 2017 Admission:
Candidates who are applying for admission to B.Tech seats at IIST must meet the minimim prescribed score for their respective categories. The minimum scores for each category are given here:
General Candidates needs to score at least 20% marks in aggregate as well as score minimum 5% marks separately in each of the three subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Other Backward Community candidates withnon-creamy layer certificates with at least 18% marks in aggregate and at least 4.5% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually.
SC, ST & PD Candidates musr have scored at least 10% aggregate marks and a minimum of 2.5% marks in each of the following three subjects -Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can apply.
Cutoff of IIST B.Tech 2017 Seat Allotment
The IIST B.Tech 2017 cutoff isn’t yet available and will be announced by the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. Candidates can in the meantime check the category-wise opening and closing ranks for different engineering branches below for previous years.
