IIST B.Tech Admission 2019 - Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology has released the notification related to the IIST B.Tech 2019 admission. Registrations for IIST B.Tech Admission 2019 will be open from May 22 in online mode. The last date to register for admission to IIST B.Tech 2019 will be June 5. The authorities will release the official brochure on May 7, 2019.  The Institute will be conducting IIST B.Tech Admission 2019 for admissions into the offered B.Tech courses in the institute. Since there is no entrance examination conducted, IIST B.Tech Admission will be done on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. The candidates will have to register and fill out details about their JEE Advanced details. Allotment will be done according to the rank list, preferences selected and availability of seats. The counselling process of IIST B.Tech Admission 2019 will be held in online mode. All candidates are required to meet the eligibility criteria of IIST B.Tech admission 2019. IIST B.Tech Eligibility Criteria 2019

All candidates are requested to read the eligibility criteria of IIST B.Tech 2019 before filling the application form. The eligibility criteria list down the conditions and requirements that the candidates have to meet to be eligible for the admission process. Inability to meet the determined eligibility criteria will lead to candidate’s inability to participate in the admission.

  • Candidates belonging to general and OBC categories must be born on or after October 1, 1994

  • Candidates who are SC, ST, PH must be born on or after October 1, 1989

List of qualifying exam

Candidates must have passed any of the 10+2 exam

  • Intermediate or two year pre-university exam conducted by a recognised board or university

  • Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.

  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary

  • Education (CBSE), New Delhi; Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi, etc. recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva

  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

  • Vocational Higher Secondary Examination

Percentage Marks in the Qualifying Examination (10+2 or Equivalent)

  • Candidates belonging to the general category must have scored at least 75 % aggregate marks

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST should have scored at least 65% aggregate marks

  • The subjects that will be taken into account for calculating the aggregate marks are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, any language and any other subject

JEE Advanced

  • Candidates must clear the JEE Advanced exam.

  • General category candidates must score at least 20% marks in JEE Advanced i.e 72 marks out of 360 and at least 6 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects

  • OBC-NCL candidates must score at least 65 marks out of 360 marks and 5 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects

  • SC, ST & PD candidates must score at 10% marks i.e 36 marks out of 360 and 3 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects.

Reservation Criteria

The number of seats reserved for different categories is:

  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 15%

  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%

  • Persons with Disabilities (PD): 5% (Horizontal Reservation

  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL): 27%

IIST B.Tech Application Form 2019

Candidates will be able to access IIST B.Tech 2019 application form in online from May 22 to June 5. All of the required details have to be submitted by the candidates to be successfully registered for the admission procedure. Payment of the required fee also has to be done by the candidates. 

Steps to Fill IIST B.Tech 2019 Application Form 

  • Registration – The candidates will have to register using their JEE Advanced 2019 roll number and date of birth.

  • Filling of Required Information – Next, the candidates will have to fill their personal and academic information such as name, address, JEE Advanced and JEE Main obtained marks and more.

  • Payment of Application Fee – After checking all of the submitted details, the candidates have to pay the application fee. The payment has to be done in online mode through SBI-Collect (non-refundable).

  • Choice Filling – After logging in using their IIST registration number and password. The candidates will have to select their choices of courses. The selection should be done in the order of preference. It is important for the candidates to select their preference otherwise they will not be able to participate in the admission process.

IIST B.Tech Rank List 2019

The admission authorities will be releasing the rank list of IIST B.Tech 2019 in online mode. Preparation of the rank list will be done by considering the scores secured in JEE Advanced 2019. The ranks of the candidates will be available in the IIST B.Tech 2019 rank list. In some cases, two or more candidates may have secured the same scores, therefore to break the tie, the following steps will be followed by the authorities:

  • Those candidates who have scored more marks in Mathematics will be ranked higher in the merit list.

  • If the candidates have to same score in Mathematics, then the one who has higher marks in Physics will be ranked above.

  • If the tie still continues, then the candidate who has ranked higher in JEE Main 2019 in that particular category will be ranked higher.

IIST B.Tech Cutoff 2019

The minimum marks determined by the candidates for the admission process constitutes the IIST B.Tech 2019 cutoff. Candidates who meet the cutoff will have higher chances of admission into the institute. It is to be noted that the cutoff will be different as per the category and course selected by the candidates.

IIST B.Tech Counselling & Seat Allotment 2019

The counselling and seat allotment of IIST B.Tech 2019 will be conducted in online mode. The list of allotted candidates will be released by the authorities in PDF format. Allotment of seats will be done according to the candidate's rank in the rank list, preferences selected and availability of seats. After the seats are allotted, the candidates will have to pay their seat acceptance fee and select their choice of centre for document verification. The candidates will have to verify their documents at the selected centres.
