HPCET 2019 – Himachal Pradesh Technical University has ended the counselling registration process of HPCET 2019. The final date for counselling registration was June 20, 2019. HPCET qualified candidates did not have to register and could be present directly for the counselling. The result of HPCET 2019 was released on May 30. The admissions into the participating institutes are offered on the basis of HPCET 2019 and JEE Main 2019 scores. Those candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2019, are eligible for direct admissions. The authorities conducted HPCET 2019 on May 12 in offline mode. The admit card for the entrance examination was available from May 9, 2019. The application form of HPCET 2019 was available till May 2. HPCET 2019 was conducted for 3 hours during which various questions related to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics were asked. HPCET 2019 Counselling Registration
June 6 to 20, 2019
Registrations for the counselling of HPCET 2019 was open till June 20. During the registration process, the candidates had to select their preferred course and institute for admission. HPCET candidates did not have to fill the counselling application form. It was to be remembered that 50% of the seats was reserved for JEE Main 2019 qualified candidates while the remaining 50% seats was reserved for HPCET 2019 qualified candidates. The registered candidates had to verify their documents. The authorities concerned will be allotting seats according to their merit and preferences selected during registration. Allotted candidates will have to confirm their admission by paying the tuition fee at the allotted institute.

The result of HPCET 2019 was declared by the authorities in online mode on May 30. The candidates were able to check their section wise and total secured marks through the result. Using the marks, the merit list will be prepared. The candidates were also able to check the result in the notice board of the University.
Steps to Check HPCET 2019 Result

Candidates will have to provide their name or HPCET 2019 roll number.

The result will be displayed on the screen of the candidates.
After checking the result, the candidates will have to download and print it out for future use.
After the results are announced, the merit list of HPCET 2019 will be declared by the admission authorities. Based on the marks secured by the candidates, the authorities will prepare the HPCET 2019 Merit List. Candidates will be listed out in the merit list according to their performance in the examination. The authorities will be releasing separate merit list for JEE Main and HP CET qualified candidates. Allotment will be done according to the merit list.
There are certain conditions which the candidates are required to meet to be eligible for admissions into the participating institutes of the state. These set of conditions are termed as the eligibility criteria of HPCET 2019. Inability to meet the eligibility criteria will lead to the candidate’s disqualification. HPCET 2019 eligibility criteria have been listed below for the candidates:
Academic Qualification – Candidates should have qualified 10+2 (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board/university. Should have studied Mathematics and Physics and compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subjects.
Marks Required – General category candidates should have secured minimum 45% aggregate marks in 10+2 (or equivalent) exam while candidates belonging to the reserved category should have secured minimum 40% marks.
JEE Main – Candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2019 examination will not be required to attempt the HPCET examination. These candidates will be eligible for direct admissions.
The application form of HPCET 2019 was available in online mode from March 5. All candidates who wished to participate in the examination had to fill the application form and submit it before May 2. All details to be submitted had to be valid and in accordance with the documents possessed by them.
Steps to fill HPCET 2019 Application Form
Registration – The candidates had to enter their name, user name, date of birth, valid email address and mobile number to register for HPCET 2019. A password had to be created by the candidates. After registration, a unique form number was generated and sent to the email id.
Filling of Application Form – After logging in using the user name, password and application number, the candidates had to fill their personal, academic and contact details.
Uploading of Scanned Documents – The candidates had to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities.
Edit Application Form – Details had to be checked and edited (if necessary) by the candidates.
Payment of Fee – Next, the candidates had to pay the required application fee in online (credit card/debit card) or offline mode (PNB Challan).
Confirmation Page – A PDF was generated after the payment of fee is done. Take the printout of the same for future refeence.

For every correct answer, the candidates will be awarded with 2 marks. 0.5 or 1/4th marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Another method of exam preparation that the candidates could use is to check and refer to the syllabus of HPCET 2019. The syllabus consisted of the subjects, topics and units that the candidates had to study for the examination. By referring to the syllabus, the candidates were able to prepare well for the upcoming examination.

Registered candidates were able to access the admit card of HPCET 2019 from May 9. The HPCET 2019 admit card consisted of the various information such as examination venue address, timings and more. The candidates were required to produce their admit card at the exam venue. Failure to bring the admit card resulted in the disqualification of the candidates. Himachal Pradesh Technical University has released the final answer key of HPCET 2019 on May 25. All of the correct answers to the questions asked in the examination are present in the HPCET 2019 answer key. Using the answer key, the candidates will be able to calculate their scores before the official result are announced. The candidates will have to follow the official marking scheme while comparing their responses to the correct answers. The provisional answer key was released on May 15 and objections to it was accepted by the authorities till May 20, 2019.

Important: If the aggregate percentage for candidates is coming in the fraction, in such case, the candidate must round off their percentage to the nearest percentage of marks. For example, candidates having aggregate marks in the range of 44.01% - 44.49%, it shall be rounded off to 44% and 44.50% - 44.99% shall be rounded off to 45%.
