HPCET 2018: Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) has released the answer key on May 13 at 5 pm. The entrance examination of HPCET 2018 was held on May 13 in offline mode. The university conducted the registration process for the entrance exam from March 8 till April 28. The candidates were able to fill the application form with the required valid information and submit it within the given deadline. The admit card was generated only for those candidates who have successfully register themselves. First 50% of the seats through HPCET will be filled by JEE Main 2018 qualified candidates while the remaining seats will be filled by HPCET 2018 qualified candidates. Separate merit list will be prepared for both categories. The counselling session will be held where seats will be allotted according to the ranking and preference of the candidates. The admission authorities of Himachal Pradesh Technical University has released the answer key of HPCET 2018 on May 13, 2018. Using the HPCET 2018 answer key, the candidates will be able to cross-check their recorded responses to the correct ones and calculate their probable score. The official marking scheme has to be followed while using the answer key. In case of any discrepancy, the candidates can send their complaints to the Controller of Examination. The final answer key will be published after all of the complaints are reviewed by the concerned authorities.
The official result of HPCET 2018 will be announced on or before May 30, 2018. The candidates will be able to check their result by logging using their HPCET 2018 roll number or name. The section wise and total secured marks will be available in HPCET 2018 result. The result will also be available in the notice board of the University.

HPCET Merit List 2018
The merit list of HPCET 2018 will be declared after the results are announced by the official authorities. The concerned authorities will prepare the HPCET 2018 merit list based on the marks secured by the candidates. Separate merit list will be released for JEE Main 2018 and HPCET 2018 qualified candidates. Those candidates who are named in the merit list will have to report for the counselling and seat allotment session.
The admit card of HPCET 2018 was available for registered candidates from May 6 to 13. HPCET 2018 admit card was an important document that the candidates have to carry to the examination venue. Those candidates who fail to produce their admit card was not allowed to appear for the entrance examination. Along with the admit card, the candidates also had to bring their identity proof. Information regarding the name of the candidate, his/her father’s name, venue address and timings of the examination was present in the released admit card of HPCET 2018.
Steps to Download HPCET 2018 Admit Card
- The candidates will have to enter their name/ HPCET 2018 application form number and programme to download their admit card.
- The admit card will be displayed on the screen.
- Before downloading the HPCET 2018 admit card, the candidates are requested to check the document for any discrepancies.
- The candidates will have to download and print out the admit card of HPCET 2018.
The application form of HPCET 2018 was available from March 8 to April 28. The last date for receiving the scanned copy of the application form (PDF) at email id- [email protected] was May 1, 2018. It was advised that all candidates have to submit their valid information as per the documents possessed by them. The incomplete or invalid application form will be liable for rejection. Step 1 – Registration: The candidates will have to register themselves for the HPCET 2018 examination. The name, user name, password, date of birth, email id and mobile number of the candidate has to be submitted. The application form number will be generated and displayed on the screen. The user name and application number will also be sent to the registered email id of the candidates.
Step 2 – Filling of Application Form: The user name, password and application number has to be used for login. The candidates will have to fill in their personal, academic and contact information. The convenient examination centre also has to be selected by the candidates while filling the online application form of HPCET 2018.
Step 3- Verify Mobile Number and email-id- The email address as entered by the candidate during the registration of the form will automatically appear. The candidate can edit his/her email ID. The system generated OTP will be sent to the candidate’s registered email address. Enter a valid OTP sent at the email address. Similarly, mobile number will also be verified.
Step 4 – Uploading of Scanned Photograph and Signature: Next, the candidates will have to upload the scanned images of their recent photograph and signature. The scanned images should be according to the specifications mentioned by the admission authorities.
Step 5 – Payment of Fees: Finally, the candidates will have to pay the required application fees. Payment can be done in both offline (PNB challan) and online mode (net banking/ credit card/ debit card). The application form will not be accepted if the fees are not paid.
Step 6 – Confirmation Page: In this step, the candidates will be able to recheck the information that they have submitted. Editing of the submitted information will be allowed. After checking and making the required changes, the candidates will have to update the information and click on “Submit and go to payment”.

HPCET Eligibility Criteria 2018
The conditions and requirements that all candidates will have to fulfil for admissions comprises the eligibility criteria of HPCET 2018. All candidates who wish to participate in the entrance examination of HPCET 2018 will have to satisfy the eligibility requirements. Failure to do so will lead to the disqualification of the candidates.
The candidates should have qualified 10+2 (or equivalent examination) from a recognized board/University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects – Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.
General category candidates should have scored minimum 45% marks in aggregate, while reserved category candidates should have secured minimum 40% marks in 10+2 (or equivalent) examination.
Those candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2018 will not have to participate in the entrance examination of HPCET 2018 and will be eligible for direct admissions.

Those candidates whose names are listed in the official merit list will be required to register themselves for the counselling session. While registering, the candidates will have to select their preferred choice of course and institute. The registration fees also has to be paid by the candidates. 50% of the seats will be filled by JEE Main 2018 qualified candidates and the remaining 50% seats will by HPCET 2018 qualified candidates. Verification of documents will take place. Allotment of seats will be done according to the ranking and preference of the candidates. The selected candidates will be issued a selection letter and payment of tuition fees has to be done at the allotted institute.
