Get familar to the exam pattern: One major difference between the two exams is while KCET is conducted in offline mode, COMEDK is available in online mode only. Questions though in both exams will be objective multiple-choice type only. The candidate must accommodate this difference when preparing for the exams. It is recommended that the candidate goes through the exam pattern of KCET and exam pattern of COMEDK UGET thoroughly.

Make a study schedule: The study schedule must be made keeping in view the requirements of the two exams. The plan should include time allotted for each topics. Now since the COMEDK UGET 2020 will be held a month or so after KCET exam, the candidate may keep some topics of COMEDK for later if managing two exams gets a bit out of hand. It must be noted the candidate must have provisions for taking stock of things after regular intervals so that progress can be checked.

Take notes during study: There are many benefits of taking notes during study. For one, it will enable the candidate to focus on the important topics. Secondly, the notes can be used for quick revision, especially closer to the exam when there is less time in hand to go through entire blocks of texts. Also, notes are easy to carry around as they don’t have the bulk associated with text books. When taking notes, the candidate must try to make them as crisp and lucid as possible.

Solve sample papers and take mock tests: These days no preparation is complete without a fair amount of sample papers. It is because solving these papers helps to identify the true strengths and weaknesses of the candidate. Also, since they contain questions from the entire syllabus, the candidates can really add to their problem solving skills by solving sample papers of KCET and also sample papers of COMEDK UGET. When solving these papers, the candidate must not only look to improve speed, but also accuracy.

In the final days, the candidate is also is urged to take mock tests, as it will give the candidate an exam like environment thus preparing him/her for the final battle. By taking these tests, the candidate will learn about time management and, importantly, the trick to handle exam pressure.

Stay happy and healthy: Keeping the body in tip-top shape is important, as only then the brain will work at its optimum level. So, in-between preparation the candidate must remember to take sufficient breaks for rejuvenation. During breaks, the candidate may engage in light hobbies like swimming, jogging, or go for a walk without over exerting. Music is also considered a stress buster, so the candidate might try that too. Also, sleeping your normal quota of hours and eat healthy.

I am studying in 11 class and i have taken only NEET coaching and i dont have interest in it anymore .Now in the second year can i able to clear kcet ,is it possible to study the syllabus within a year.I want to take up veternary or else agriculture .Which has more scope .Iam from category 2A.

Arya 2nd Dec, 2019

Hi Nirupadi,

Basically, the Karnataka Common Entrance Test is much easier than national exams like NEET. Of you are prepared for NEET, you are more than prepared for KCET. However, if you are starting now, one year is enough for preparation if you work hard and productively.  You should clear your basics properly and be thorough with your NCERT syllabus.

Both Veterinarian Studies and Agriculture have great scope in India and you should opt for a career in which you are interested and skilled.

What all Exams can 2 year Dopper attempt? Can I attempt JEE, KCET, VITEE, BITSAT, NEET, COMEDK? Am I eligible for these exam

Rishi Garg 2nd Dec, 2019

You are eligible for all the exams you have listed except that for JEE Advaned. Because a student during Class 12th or one year dropper can appear for this exam. Two year droppers can't attempt this exam (JEE Advanced).

For any further doubts, Kindly let me know through comment section.

For kcet, the board marks counted will be only the theory marks or do practical marks also count?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 1st Dec, 2019

Whole mark will be considered i.e.300 (Physics,Chemistry, mathematics) . There is no partial consideration like thoery and lab marks.  They will consider total marks and it holds 50% to the total score in KCET and rest 50% is score from the entrance exam.

That score will determine your final rank under general category. if you have any reservation then the board will decide by which factor your rank will get divided.

Hope it help!
