B.Tech admissions through management quota is the second option available to engineering aspirants who otherwise may not have got a seat in some of the leading and popular engineering colleges in India. B.Tech management quota is an official pathway for admissions at a higher cost than the regular admissions. Students who have appeared for many engineering entrance exams, may not have scored that well to get a seat through regular channels of counselling. In this article, we discuss how to get BTech admission in Management Quota or Institutional Quota.
Most state counselling processes and deemed universities allow a percentage of seats to be reserved as management quota. These are essentially payment seats and the cost of admission as well as the fee is higher than regular seats. States like Andhra, Telangana offer B.Tech admissions to as many as 35% of the seats in the private engineering colleges in the state. In other states, it may be up to 15%. Some states offer a separate B.Tech counselling for the management quota while many club it with the regular one.
Candidates who have not appeared for any entrance exam or have secured low scores in entrance exams can apply for the direct B.Tech admissions through management quota. The other avenue for direct B.Tech admissions is the institutional quota which is offered through the spot rounds of most counselling processes. Another pathway is to approach the college or institute for the admissions.
