GATE 2019 – IIT Madras has released the GATE 2019 score card on March 19, a day prior to the announced date. Candidates can now download their score card by providing the required credentials only if they have qualified in the exam. The result of GATE 2019 was announced on March 15, 2019. Along with the GATE 2019 result, the qualifying cutoff for each paper has also been announced. Candidates who score the qualifying cutoff will be deemed qualified and can download their GATE 2019 score cards on March 20. The final answer key of GATE 2019 was previously released by the authorities. GATE 2019 counselling is held separately for IITs through COAP, NITs and IIITs through CCMT. What's new in GATE 2019?
A new paper "Statistics" with a code of "ST" has been introduced for GATE 2019.
Candidates can apply online after the last date for an extended period on payment of a late fee. The late fee is Rs 500 if candidates apply within September 24 to October 1, 2018. For candidates appearing for the exam at foreign centres will have to pay a late fee of 20 USD.
The score card of GATE 2019 is available from March 19 to May 31, 2019. GATE 2019 score card will be released only for those candidates who meet the determined cutoff and will be available for only a limited point of time. The score card will be valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement of result.

The authorities have released the final answer key of GATE 2019. Candidates can now check the answer key published after the challenge window closed on February 22. IIT Madras had released the official provisional answer keys along with the question papers for all 24 papers on February 19. Candidate's responses for all papers of GATE 2019 were released earlier. The correct responses to the questions asked in the exam are available in the answer key of GATE 2019. Using the answer key, the candidates can check the correct answers and calculate their probable secured scores before the result is announced.
IIT Madras has released the result of GATE 2019 on March 15 i.e., one day before the official date. To access the GATE 2019 result, the candidates will have to submit their enrollment id/ email id, registration number and date of birth. All of the details such as the scores and ranks secured by the candidates will be present in the GATE result 2019. The candidates who secure scores equal to more than the cutoff will be able to download their score card.

The cutoff of GATE 2019 is the minimum marks that the candidates will have to secure to qualify the examination. The cutoff acts as a screening process for admission into the various institutes offered M.Tech admissions through GATE. However, PSU’s will be releasing their own cutoff criteria for recruitment.
Careers360 will be releasing the college predictor of GATE 2019 tentatively after the results are announced. Candidates can use the college predictor to shortlist the colleges which will be available for admission based on the candidates' obtained scores/ranks in GATE 2019 examination. To use the college predictor, the candidates will have to log in using their Facebook, Google or registered account. It is to be remembered that the result of GATE 2019 college predictor will be indicative in nature.
Based on GATE scores, many PSUs offer recruitment to eligible candidates. Every year, companies such as HPCL, ONGC, PowerGrid, BPCL and more recruit candidates who have qualified GATE with good scores. Registrations for PSUs are open according to the recruiters. While some PSUs offer direct recruitment on the basis of GATE scores, there are some who conduct interview or tests.
IIT Madras will not be conducting a common counselling of GATE 2019. For admissions into the various institutes, the candidates will have to individually apply for allotment. Using the scores and ranks secured in the examination, the candidates will be able to apply for admissions and recruitment. However, common portals are available for those candidates who wish to apply for IIT and NIT admissions. Candidates who are interested in IITs will be able to apply through GATE COAP, and for NITs, the candidates will have to apply through CCMT.
IIT Madras had released the admit card of GATE 2019 in online mode on January 4. Using their GATE enrollment number or email id and password, the candidates had to log in through GOAPS. The GATE 2019 admit card is an important document which has to be printed and produced at the examination centre. If any candidate failed to bring the admit card to the centre, then he/she was not allowed to attempt the exam. Along with the admit card, a photo id proof also had to be brought. Personal details of the candidate along with the address of the examination venue and timings was available in the GATE 2019 admit card.
The authorities have released the mock test of GATE 2019 on October 30. The candidates can practice for the examination through the GATE 2019 mock test. The format of the examination is reconstructed according to GATE 2019. Since the exam pattern will be similar, the candidates will be able to practice well.
The application correction process is over for GATE 2019. The process was started from September 27, 2018 till November 16. During the correction procedure, the registered candidates were allowed to change some of their submitted information after logging into their GOAPS account. Additionally, the authorities had also announced that the candidates had to correct the marked defects in their application form by November 2, 2018, through their account. The application form of those candidates who had failed to do so there application form will be rejected by the authorities. Candidates were able to change their category/gender/PwD status/Dyslexia and other similar learning disabilities from October 31 to November 9, 2018. Few Tips on How to Prepare for GATE 2019
First of all the candidates will have to understand and know the syllabus and exam pattern of GATE. This will allow the candidates to know how the entrance examination will be conducted by the authorities.

The examination of GATE 2019 was conducted for 24 papers. The candidates were requested to remember the paper code of the entrance examination as it was required while filling the application form or other examination processes.
Candidates could check the syllabus of GATE 2019 before commencing their preparation for the entrance examination. The GATE 2019 syllabus is different according to the discipline selected and studied by the candidates during their qualifying examination. The topics and concepts covered by the candidates in their graduation level were mostly present in the GATE syllabus. While filling the application form, the candidates were able to select their preferred exam centres of GATE 2019. IIT Madras has announced the list of various cities under the eight zonal centres where the examination will be conducted.
GATE Common Offer Acceptance (COAP) is a common portal through which GATE qualified candidates will be able to apply for admissions into IITs. Firstly, the candidates will have to register with their obtained GATE scores and select their IITs of their choice. After reviewing, the admission offers from the applied IITs will be listed out in the GATE COAP portal. The candidates will be able to select their preference from the set of offers and proceed with the admission process.
GATE 2019 application form was available till September 23 and with late fee till October 1, 2018. The application form was released on August 31, 2018. The entire registration process had to be done through GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). The facility of correction in GATE 2019 application form was also available. If a candidate failed to submit the application form by then, then he/she will not be allowed to attempt the examination.
The given steps could be followed by the candidates to fill and submit the application form of GATE 2019
Step 1 – Registration: Firstly, the candidates had to register for GATE 2019 through GOAP. Name, valid email ID and mobile number had to be submitted. After registration, an enrollment number was generated. A password also had to be created by the candidates for future login purposes.
Step 2 – Filling of Application Form: Next, the candidates had to submit their personal, academic, contact, college and valid photo id details. Selection of GATE paper and exam centres also had to be done.
Step 3 – Uploading of Images: Scanned images of the candidates’ photograph, signature and category certificate (if applicable) had to be uploaded according to the specifications mentioned by the authorities.
Step 4 – Payment of Application Fees: The payment had to be done through online mode i.e., net banking/debit card/credit card.

Age Limit – There is no age limit for GATE applicants.

A: No, admit card alone is not enough for the entry. Along with the admit card, candidates have to carry a valid photo ID in original which was specified during the filling up of the online application.

A: No, print out of the admit card is necessary and no candidate entry is allowed without the hard copy of the admit card.
Q: Will there be a “magnified question paper” for visually challenged PwD candidates?

A: You can apply for any GATE paper. However, that is not an advisable move as you may face problems during admissions or PSU recruitment. What you should do is to check the PSU recruitment details or the M.Tech eligibility of the institute you wish to apply to and then fill the application form accordingly.

A: No, there is no minimum pass percentage asked for the under graduation/ qualifying exam nor is there any age limit.

A: Make the payment again. Any excess money will be refunded back. However, keep the details of all transactions with you so that you have the record of the payments.
Q: My admit card is unclear. The photograph is blurred. Is it ok to carry it?
A: No. Please write to your zonal centre and send them a copy. They will rectify the problem. You may face problems at the exam centre if you carry an admit card with blurred photograph or unclear print. You may not be allowed into the exam hall.
Q: Can I carry a copy of my Aadhaar Card along with the GATE admit card?
A: No. The original must be carried with your to be verified. Also, you must carry the document that you mentioned in your GATE application. If you have mentioned the Aadhaar Card then carry it. If you have mentioned the PAN card and carry the Aadhaar Card, you will not be allowed into the exam hall.
