AMET 2019 - Academy of Maritime Education and Training, AMET has released the application form of AMET 2019 in both online and offline modes on January 25. Candidates can fill AMET 2019 application form from this page by using the details required. Candidates will have to register and fill the application form in order to appear in the entrance test and get admission. The institute announced admission in its bachelor's degree courses in engineering for the academic session 2019-20. The AMET 2019 entrance test for Tamil Nadu students will be conducted on the April 27 & 28 in online mode through a computer-based test. The entrance test for outstation students will be held on May 12, 2019. Candidates will be shortlisted for AMET 2019 admission on the basis of marks secured by candidates in AMET entrance test 2019 along with the marks of qualifying examination. B.E. Marine Engineering

Candidates must have passed class 12 with aggregate 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry along with 50% marks in English

Candidate must be physically fit for sea service as per the norms set by Directorate General of Shipping. Eyesight standard of 6/12 in both eyes or 6/18 in one eye and 6/9 in another eye with no colour blindness is a must.  

B.E. Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering


Must have passed class 12 with aggregate 50% marks (45% for reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics


B.E. Petroleum Engineering

Candidate should have passed class 12 with aggregate 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category) in Maths, Physics and Chemistry


B.E. Mechanical Engineering

Candidate should have passed class 12 with aggregate 50% marks for open category and  45% in case of reserved category in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Candidate must also have secured 50% marks in English either in Class 10 or 12. Boys and Girls both are eligible to apply


B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Passed class 12 with aggregate 50% marks for open category and 45% for reserved category in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidate must not have crossed the age of 25 years at the time of admission.


B.E. Food Processing Technology

Candidate should have passed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology with 50% marks in aggregate


B.E. Mining Engineering

Candidate should have passed class 12 with aggregate 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category) in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Candidate must also have secured 50% marks in English either in Class 10 or 12. Both Boys and Girls are eligible to apply

AMET 2019 Application Process: Students who want to take admission in AMET will have to fill the AMET 2019 application form either in online or offline mode. The complete instruction for the AMET 2019 application process by online and offline mode is given below

Online Form Filling- Student can fill the online application form by logging into the official website of college and fill the complete application form as mentioned below

  • Click on the link for application form for admission 2019-20

  • Fill the application form by entering all the details correctly

  • Upload passport size recent coloured photograph

  • Pay Rs. 1000 as examination fee and submit the form

  • Download the submitted application form and payment receipt

  • Send completely filled application form along with payment receipt to college by post


Offline Form Filling- 

  • Mode-1: Student will have to download the application form available from the website, register for admission, fill the details in the application form and send by post to the AMET campus address along with the demand draft of Rs.1000 drawn in favour of AMET, Chennai. Application form can also be obtained by hand by visiting the AMET Chennai campus, city office of AMET in Anna Nagar or at AMET Branch office in Patna. 
  • Mode-2: Candidates can buy the application form in person from the locations given below by the paymeny of Rs.1000 by cash.

Submission of application form: Candidates who fill the application form either by offline or online mode has to submit the application form along with attested xerox copies in person/post/courier to the Admission Office of the AMET at Kanathur or City office at Anna Nagar.

AMET Exam Pattern 2019 

Students who are appearing for the admission test of AMET must prepare for the entrance exam as per the prescribed AMET 2019 exam pattern. The complete exam pattern as prescribed by AMET exam conducting authority is given below

  • AMET Entrance exam for B.Tech/B.E. admission will be conducted online in computer-based test

  • Questions in AMET Entrance exam will be objective type questions having multiple choices

  • AMET Entrance exam question papers will have questions from Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Logical & Analytical Reasoning, English Grammar and General Aptitude. 

  • Question from Maths, Physics and Chemistry be based out of class 12 syllabus from Maths, Physics and Chemistry. 

AMET Syllabus 2019 

Students who are appearing for the AMET entrance test 2019 should prepare for examination strictly according to the prescribed AMET 2019 syllabus. The AMET 2019 entrance exam will comprise questions from the class 12 syllabus of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Apart from these, questions will also be asked from Logical and Analyical Reasoning, English Grammar and General Aptitude.

Students who have filled the application form by offline mode must have the filled the details in application form labelled for hall ticket. Candidates who filled the form online have to download the AMET 2019 Hall Ticket from the official website after it gets released by the exam conducting authority. AMET Result 2019 
Academy of Maritime Education and Training will declare the AMET 2019 result tentatively by the second week of June 2019. The result of AMET 2019 will be available in online mode only. Candidate can view and download their result by logging into the website with their roll number and name. Link for downloading the result will be available on this website once it will be released by official authority. 

AMET 2019 Selection Process

Students who are applying in AMET must clearly know AMET 2019 Selection Process as followed by the institute. Candidates can find the complete selection process below

  • Selection of candidate in B.Tech/B.E. first-year course at AMET is made purely on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in entrance examination and personal interview. 

  • AMET prepares a merit list on the basis of marks in AMET entrance exam and class 12. Candidate will be offered seat as per the rank in the merit list.

  • AMET may hold an interview round if found necessary for admission process 

  • The candidate who has been offered a seat has to pass the medical examination which will be done at the college campus. The medical exam will be done by a team of qualified doctors as per the set standard of Directorate General of Shipping, Govt of India.

  • Only those students will be able to take admission who are declared medically fit after the medical exam. 

NOTE: The shortlisted candidates should pay their Partial fees within 5 days from the release of selection list and balance fees within 15 days. Fee payment can be done by Demand Draft/Online/Cash.

AMET Counselling 2019 

Candidates who are declared qualified in the AMET entrance examination will be required to attend the AMET 2019 Counselling for taking admission in B.Tech/B.E. course. The college will prepare a merit list on the basis of the score secured in AMET 2019 entrance exam and marks in qualifying exam. 

Subsequent rounds of the interview may be held before being finally offering a seat for admission. Final seat will be offered on the basis of merit list which will be prepared after the completion of all rounds of admission including interviews if any.  Candidates are required to submit the xerox copies of all the below-mentioned documents  at the time of counselling:


  • Admit card and scorecard of AMET 2019

  • Marksheets of class 10 and 12

  • Certificates of class 10 and 12

  • Identity proof like Aadhaar Card, Election ID Card, PAN Card

  • Passport size colour photographs


Medical Examination: Candidates who have been offered a seat for admission in AMET are required to pass the medical examination before taking admission in college. The medical test will be done by a team of highly qualified doctors as per the set standards of Directorate General of Shipping, Govt of India. Only those candidates will be offered final admission who will be declared medically fit after the medical test.

After completion of 12th class, interested candidates can appear for the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) or the All India Merchant Navy Entrance Exam.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility for joining merchant navy is finishing class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Candidates have to be unmarried Indian citizens (male or female).
Normal vision is required but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed.
Admission is through an entrance followed by a screening test and a main written examination.
After clearing the test, there is an interview and a medical test.
You also need to complete a ship-training course prior to the employment. The course is generally short-term where the candidates are taught basic security concerns of voyaging.
