JEE Main 2017: What does this new Eligibility Criteria mean?
According to CBSE, all the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. The new eligibility criteria introduced by the exam authority means that an aspirant will not be able to submit JEE Main online application unless it carries his/her AADHAAR number. In case, an aspirant does not hold an AADHAR number, he/she will have to get it first to apply for JEE Main 2017.
“At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main)–2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data,” the JEE Main officials said. This also means that JEE Main aspirants will not be able to submit the online applications unless it carries their AADHAAR number.

Scenario 1: You have an AADHAAR Card
Candidates in this case should immediately cross-check their AADHAAR card to ensure that it does not carry any mistake or wrong information. In case, there is any mismatch in your personal information you wish to fill in the online JEE Main application form and the personal data recorded in your available AADHAAR card, your application might be rejected by CBSE.

Scenario 2: You don’t have an AADHAAR Card
In this scenario, you should immediately rush to the AADHAAR Card centres designated by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Scenario 3: You have an AADHAAR Card, but it carries mistakes or wrong information
In case your AADHAAR card carries any wrong information, you will need to get that corrected by concerned officials before applying for JEE Main 2017.
JEE Main officials say that your application may face rejection if the details in the application form and that fetched from the AADHAAR card details don’t match. “In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)–2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records,” officials say, adding, “If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be.”

The online application process for JEE Main 2017 will begin from December 1, 2016 onwards. The last date for application is January 2, 2017 and fee can be paid till January 3, 2017.
